Sorry about the tardiness this week. The 31/31 takes up a fair amount of time, and kids take up the rest. This week, I will do a smaller question so I can get back on the Monday schedule.
Oh, and if you have an idea or a question you'd like to see here, put it in the Suggestion Box. Now, on to the question...
If you were in a video game that already exists, what game and which character would you be? Not who you would like to be, but which character is the most like you?
"I'm a dude, playin' a dude, disguised as anotha dude! You a dude that don't know what dude he is!" -Robert Downey Jr. in Tropic Thunder
Honestly the character that is probably most like me is Jacob from Mass Effect 2 as much as that is a little unflattering. We seem very much similar: we adhere to what we perceive as our duty and take care of those weaker than us (his strong reactions to his father's mishaps; his role in ME3). I keep to myself most of the time though when I get started on a topic that I enjoy I can talk quite a bit. That's what I got right now.
@Penguin - I can see that. I actually am trying to utilize Jacob on my current playthrough, and so far, he's alright. Everyone has their strengths, you just have to find them.
For me, I would have to go with Jack Marston from RDR. His relationship with his father mirrors that of my own. Jack doesn't forget those that do him wrong, and seeks to make those wrongs disappear. As a child, he is into books of fantasy, much how I was. He tries to prove himself. To his father by going after a bear... and while I have not done that, trying to earn my fathers praise was always a task. Jack goes unappreciated in his small role in RDR, as I often feel. Its like Rockstar invaded my mind or something...
Of all the games I've played, I've yet to encounter a character that fits my situation. I actually wrote a blog about that, may I use that blog as an answer?
As much as I'd like to say Nathan Drake or some other big hero type. I'd probably have to say Guybrush from the Monkey Island games. I tend to be really sarcastic, and while I find it funny it probably annoys people more than I realize. I'm a good guy though and have good intentions but can be pretty ham-fisted sometimes. Anyway I've come out OK in the end, and even though I was a bit of a fool I still got the girl.
