  • Here you can discuss movies, the possibility of and MLP:FiM movie, or whatever has to do with movies in general. So, what yer favorite movie? Mine's Back to the Future. Also, who here has seen the Austin Powers movies? *cough*notmray*cough*   Wait, since when is "yer" a word? I must have a crappy spell check.

  • Okay, before Mray posts something in this thread he must at least watch one Star Wars movie from the original trilogy.

Yes I will be pestering you until you watch one, Mray.

I AM THE SPY-MONKEY. BOW BEFORE MY MONKEY-NESS!

  • I think we should just talk about star wars here, until Mray watches the original trilogy.

  • I hope you know that the more you talk about it, the less I want to watch it.

Also, I hope you know I have ban abilities. :)

  • You'd ban someone for talking about Star Wars? Harsh...

Fine, I wont just talk about Star Wars.

Im not sure how many of you went through the pain of watching Cars 2 just so you could see this, but here is the trailer for Pixars next movie Brave. It looks amazing.

    I'll shut up now.

  • I quite honestly believe that Pixar is currently a better animation studio than Disney.

Indiana Jones and Star Wars would be tied for my favorite film series. But to narrow it to one, I'd say Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and the Original 1977, pre special edition Star Wars.

Also, @PizzaKing, I didn't mind Cars 2. I liked it better than the first one, personally. Too much Mater though.

@Elisha Pixar is a better studio, but Disney's own is getting back on track. Princess and the Frog and Winnie the Pooh being traditional hand drawn is a good sign and Tangled was one of my favorite movies last year, unironically.

Speaking of Disney/Pixar, I doubt anyone here went to the D23 Expo (Disney's Comic-Con) but the new Avengers footage is awesome, and then there's also this to look forward to:

    SURPRISE!

  • I believe they also announced, a new film directed by Pete Docter. It has a similar temp name (The Untitled Pixar Movie About the Human Mind).

Correct! Both movies are directed by one half of the"Up" team. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention and didn't get a picture of that slide.

BLASPHEMY! Nothing can beat classic 2D animation, not even an incredible movie like Toy Story 3 or other great Pixar films. Unless you are referring to their most recent works, then I'd have to agree (except Winnie the Pooh...that was great).

Anyways, I could go on and on about my favorite animated movies, so I'll stick to live action for now.  Some of my favorites are TRON, TRON: Legacy, the Pirates of the Caribbean films, The Dark Knight, Inception, District 9, and Super 8.

  • I honestly think Dreamworld has been better than both Disney and Pizarro in the last 3 or 4 years

As for my favorite movies all time, I'm going to have to say raiders of the lost arc first, Jurassic Park second, star wars 3rd, the dark Knight 4th, and jaws fifth.

  • That was supposed to say pixar. Not Pizarro. I hate my phones autocorrect, and that's what I'm using right now cause I have a 3 hour break between classes and I'm bored.

I have to disagree on that. Although there are some really good Disney films ( Lion King and Lio & Stich for example). In my opinion though, there are simply more high quality Pixar films.

Some of my favorite live action films are: Moon, Requiem For a Dream, American Beauty, Pans Labyrinth, The Social Network, Ed Wood,  A Dog Day Afternoon, The Shining, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Gotta love Autocorrect. Also even though dont think dreamworks is better than Pixar (too many crappy movies), Kung Fu Panda, its sequel, and How To Train Your Dragon are all very good animated films that have given Pixar some very nice competition.
