The lights are on
Do you like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? You aren't alone, as many others do too. Are you a brony who uses GIO? Then this is the place for you.
That is all.
Watanuki Watanuki Born on april first!
Law & disorder
Oh fellow Brony bretheren, I have seen the light! After watching about 10 episodes of the "Death Note" anime, I became obsessed. Now I've bought the first 5 volumes of the manga. I've also seen an episode of "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" and have ordered the first volume of manga. And while I haven't seen a whole episode of it, I saw a clip of "Hetalia" and thought it was pretty funny.
By the way, I remember the Brony Movie Night showing an anime movie a few months ago that had some European thief in a small European country. He had a gruff American sidekick, a samurai sidekick, and was being chased by some detective. I've forgotten the name of the movie: Does anyone here know what it is?
The Castle of Cagliostro
Thanks, SK! :D
I remember really liking it, too.
I actually saw an awesome cosplayer of Lupin III from that movie at anime matsuri this last weekend. Wish I had taken a picture...
Who was he dressed as?
Alright, Attack On Titan is one of the best animes I've ever seen. If you guys have yet to see it, I HIGHLY encourage you check it out. The action is intense, the characters are deep and memorable, the story is suspenseful and interesting, and the animation is done very nicely. I was drawn in by a stellar opening song, put to a video you've probably seen of Christopher Walken dancing, but I stayed for the awesometacular show that is Attack On Titan. Take my word for it, it's really great. Go watch it. DO IT NAO!!!! And if you've already watched it, WATCH IT AGAIN!!!! That is all.
I think I saw a clip from that show. A giant running fat man?
Lol, yep, that there's a titan.
By the way, this is easily one of the greatest short anime films I've ever seen, though, it's from some anime I've never seen. It's so dang funny, quite beautiful, and yet, it also makes a statement about how people's expectations with situations can be really ridiculous when nothing is really done to achieve said goals. This is a topic I 100% deal with every time I log on to the internet, seeing weeaboos and their false perception on Japanese culture, speaking of daydreams that they are too lazy and too detached from reality to actually persue (and it doesn't help that I'm learning Japanese, so these people look EVEN stupider). This film is REALLY funny, both in it's writing and visual humor.
Since this thread is active again all the sudden, I have to go ahead and reitterate that everyone who likes anime should give Fairy Tail a try. I just caught completely up with the Manga (it is still in production) and it continues to further itself as my favorite anime/manga ever.
Any way I can find the Yugioh series in its not dubbed by 4Kids state?
Also, Madoka Magica is really good, but you already knew that, didn't you?
Hide Yo Dragons
You know, this kinda counts as anime, but since Mray got me into Megaten, I've been trying to get more and more obscure games from the series. Let me say that the non-Persona games are WAY overlooked by our western audience.
These games are SO GOOD. They're creative, dark, mature, addictive, hard as nails. They're basically everything I love in JRPGs.
The demon collecting aspect is prominent in each installment, sometimes with a different twist. Most of them involve conversations with the beings that can be VERY funny, but also punishing and soul-crushing. When you convince your demon to join your team, you fuse em! And get an even more powerful thing!
Majin Tensei is also very strange. It's like Fire Emblem meets Megami Tensei. Demon conversations and perma-death. Need I say more?
Oh yeah, and there's something about an anime coming out Devil Summoner 2, but what is this? The "All Things Anime" forum?
So I recently got through the arrancar arc in Bleach and am wanting to watch something similarily awesome to Bleach. Any ideas from you guys?
