SuperKingC77: omg, that was every bit as good as i could have hoped. Discord was incredible (and tell me i wasnt 100% correct when i said "he seems like the Riddler"). it was funny (i loved when he got fed up with fluttershy and just said buck this and changed her himself XD ), dark (but not overly-so), and was actually intelligent in the ways he made them all go anti-pony. If the rest of the season goes like this, we're going to have on hay of a good TV show on our hands. seriously, this episode did not disappoint me at all, and i had some high expectations going in. my prediction for the end: Celestia had the Elements of Harmony the entire time and this is all just a giant trolling.

I think this episode actually surpassed my high expectations. It was nothing short of amazing. It may just be my favorite episode yet. Also Discord has earned his place as my second favorite charter in FiM.
SuperKingC77: Elisha Muir: Based on the quality of the first episode, I can easily say this season is gonna be miles better. i think think they know who watches this now, and have decided to aim it towards us as much as they can without alienating the intended audience.

It's all right, anyways there's no doubt that was a reference to A New Hope, even the music slightly resembled the scene. I think the show is 20% cooler now because of it. Oh, and Fluttershy was HILARIOUS in this episode. "Good boy Angel, mama's so proud!" XD

Totally saw Star Wars in that ending. The music, the staging, the iris out for the ending. The only things missing from the "A New Hope" ending were medals and Spike or Angel roaring like Chewie. lol

omg, that was awesome. a little dissapointed at the way they defeated discord (i expected at least a little difference from the way they beat NMM), but honestly the rest was so amazing that i really dont care. the star wars reference at the end was also awesome, and after this episode i will never be able to look at discord without thinking of Sheogorath again, Q might as well have been speaking in a scottish accent. they definitely need to bring him back at some point, just too awesome of a character to let fall by the wayside. probably the best villian ive seen in a tv show since 2000.
