  • Welcome to the herd. Also did you like Equestria Girls BTAG?

  • I'd give it around an 8,maybe a little lower. It exceeded my low expectations, but it clearly had its faults. The final confrontation came up way too fast, and didn't make much sense to me, but I enjoyed the rest of the film.

  • I'd give it a 9 because it excellently executed on the one thing that seemed interesting before hand: showing us our world through the eyes of a pony. I thought the ending was a little confusing as well, but after I watched a second time I realized that it was almost the exact same as Sauron's ring from Lord of the Rings. SPOILER ALERT for anyone else, know as I was saying it's basically the same. Sunset Shimmer uses crown, gives her great power, anyone else in Lord of the Rings that puts it on gains great power, but when Sunset Shimmer/ any other ring bearer uses it against it's original master it turns on them. Only difference is that the Mane 6 activated it together and got longer hair.

  • Yeah, I've been wanting to re-watch it recently, so maybe I'll give a different score afterwards. Did it bother you that all of Rainbow Dash's lines were awesome and nothing else? I felt some of the main characters were underutilized.

  • Once again: my thoughts on Equestria Girls in a nutshell

I like turtles. And monkeys. And cats.

    VERY MUCH SO

I like turtles. And monkeys. And cats.

  • Yes, Rainbow and Applejack I did think were a little underutilized, but it was setup from the beginning as a twilight episode. Heck in a two day time period she had adapt to this messed up world, make friends to help her earn the respect of an entire school run on normally run on fear and segregation, not to mention simply getting used to walking on two legs and eating in a way that didn't make her look like a weirdo. So some lacking secondary character development is something I can forgive.

  • I think you just made the argument of why this movie is bad for me.

I like turtles. And monkeys. And cats.

  • That it's a longer Twilight Episode? Heck even so, all the best moments/lines were made by Pinkie Pie.

  • That it's a longer Twilight Episode? Heck even so, all the best moments/lines were made by Pinkie Pie so.......

  • No. That it has piss-poor pacing that makes no sense, the so called 'side characters' have no development, and Twilight loses all sense of reliability when she does the impossible in two days. That doesn't even make sense in the show's canon!

I like turtles. And monkeys. And cats.

  • It had better pacing than Magical Mystery Cure, and better songs. Thing is there have been episodes of the show were only a single character gets any development and is still good. Who says it's impossible for someone to simply tell a group of people, " Hey guess what, if you follow me you don't have to be thought of as a freak for hanging out with people outside your social group, not to mention live under the oppression of some black mailing jerk." And she did with the help of friends who obviously had a lot of recognition in there social groups backing here up. I don't see how that's "the impossible."

  • I have no problem with a normal episode focusing entirely on one character, but for a movie with triple the running time, I would've liked to see the other characters have more of a role. In regards to the pacing, it felt entirely too rushed. It is highly unlikely to show up to a new school, and within 2 days be the most popular girl in school and be the prom queen. The plot exponentially grew from nothing to climax in about 20 minutes. Why they didn't slightly increase the running time, and gradually build up to the Sunset Shimmer confrontation, I have no idea.

  • That's fare, but it seemed like this was about seeing our world through twilight's eyes which to me was very entertaining. For them to focus on characters that are use to this world it would take away from that in my opinion.

Magical Mystery Cure was a 22 minute episode. This movie was 90 minutes long. And yes, not all of those episodes are good. And shapeshifting, becoming accustomed to a new world, becoming popular enough in two days in a HIGH SCHOOL, and getting a romantic interest in two days is impossible.
