*Peeks in and waves shyly* Er…hi. I’m kinda new. By kinda, I mean I just watched the first episode of FiM today. By today I mean an hour ago. Quickly followed by the second episode. Then the third. I’m now on the fourth and plan on watching as much of the show as I can tonight. Yeah, I did just pick up a new game today, but it will have to wait for tomorrow.

I’m Silvershine but feel free to call me Silver. I will also answer to my given name of Lisa, but only if you say it nicely. I’m 21. I play video games, hang out on the GI site and read. And now I’m here, so that’s something else to add.

My journey to bronydom is probably nothing too special. I started hanging around the GI site a lot, mainly pestering Reiner’s profile with comments. Through doing that, I noticed someone else doing the same thing. That would be Sabrina. One day Sabrina asked me if I was a brony. I figured it had something to do with the rapidly reproducing MLP avatars I had seen, but I’d never looked into it.

Finally, today I decided to check out what all the fuss was about. So I read through the Brony Rules and Welcome to the Herd threads just to see what you guys were like. I also stalked Sabrina’s profile and saw that it had utterly exploded with ponytar-laden people leaving comments.

So fine, I’ll bite. If so many teen and older boys like the show, there has to be something to it, right? Plus, if I do get into it, I at least apply to half of the “intended” demographic since I’m female. Besides, is being a brony any more shocking than college kids still liking Pokemon or Transformers or Dragonball Z?

Thing is, I didn’t really even like MLP when I was the intended demographic. I was, and still very much am, a tomboy. Granted, they were higher on the chain than Barbies, but I’d rather be playing soccer or Zelda. Therefore, this enjoyment still had a bit of the “WHYDOILIKETHIS?!” phase for me. Also, the term “brony” confused me because I constantly saw it being used to refer to boys only. Ah well.

Man, this is getting long. So, I will end it with this: I can’t pick a favorite pony. I know, it’s blasphemy or something. I love Twilight Sparkle, because I’m so much like her. I have hundreds of books in my room waiting to be read. And she has telepathy and teleportation. I also want to squeeze Fluttershy with all I have because I was the quiet kid with a big heart growing up. And then there’s Rainbow Dash. Bold. Spunky. Prankster. She speaks to my heart. What can I say, Friendship is Magic, and you need more than one brony/pony to make that magic happen. ;)

Looks like I'm late to the welcoming, sorry 'bout that. Well then, my name is Matthew, I don't know what exactly I can tell you about myself. I guess to start is I'm a very kind and caring male adolescence.

As for the show, of course I love it to death, being a fan of older cartoons I slipped right into this. You'll definitely want to finish the series if you really enjoyed the first few episodes, they get so much better as they progress throughout the show. Glad you're liking it so far! And make yourself right at home!

In cman's defense, (I've been reading your name as Cam. Oops.) he did have the link in there. He tried, he really did. But yes, both of your plans were already foiled by trying to trick someone else. No, I did not read the whole thing. But I will say going into it that I thought it was going to be a...what's the word you put up...clotrop(?) fic. Honestly, I would have rather have found out it was one instead of the reality, I think.

And Laws, I think mine was probably longer than normal. :P
