  • Dear Members:

Hey! I had a great idea! You know how a lot of people are Christians, we should make a video game featuring a lot of christian values!

*random guy* BUT THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE!

*response* Not by the means of kickstarter and not by a talented innovative group of consisting of Gameinformer members.

I want ALL of you to please brainstorm for a Christian game and we will put it on Kickstarter.com. If you do not know what Kickstarter is, then go to Kickstarter.com. I know that a lot of game developers are Christians, and if we get enough attention, I think we can get one of them to do it. A lot of the christian games that are out there are either cheesy, outdated, or poorly designed. The idea shouldn't be "TOO CHRISTIANY" so that anyone can pick it up. By that I mean that it should not be all in your face "'go back and repent!' or 'die heathen die!' or 'you're going to hell!'" type of idea. It should be subtle, it brings the character or characters into realization of GOD by certain actions. It should be a game based on choices, and the rest YOU can add.

With enough focus and brains, we can do this and it will be the first Gameinformer kickstarter influenced project (I think). We have to be VERY RESPECTFUL of others ideas and not trample over people for "BAD IDEAS". I do not want to hear anything about bad ideas. I want you all to bring your best game on. As for those who do not consider themselves useful in the art of innovation or imagination, I want you to help in whatever way you can. Some of you have some good connections (I hope), so please use them. Think about it! Its possible.

    Sincerely,

The Most Honorable and Epic Grand Master Cobra Jedi

P.S. For you grammar nazis...i really don't care about internet grammar and spelling ;D

    EDIT:

OK I am laying down the groundwork. If you disagree let me know.

The overall goal of this game is for the player to guide these characters towards GOD. It will be done in a very subtle way, remember that we want Everyone to be able to pick this up (it might lead them to know more about GOD).  Now there is also a possibility of failure. The story will be based upon choices, where you have various endings. So I was thinking of an interactive drama like Heavy Rain (if you have not played the game please do so or watch the walkthrough or learn more about the game).

The player will play the story of four different characters each character has an issue. Some are trying to find answers, some are trying to be healed. Certain events will cause some of them go get to know each other and some will be either saved or left out because of your choices. Now the events and the characters will be left up to you. We can come together and be creative with the story and the characters and the rest will follow. So focus on the story for now.

If you don't like anything plz fee free to let me know.

    EDIT:

    Ok,

    this is my idea:

I was thinking of a game that was like Heavy Rain (in the concept of its function of course). Lets say you have 4 characters and you play each of their stories.

    You have:

A young widow who is 30, very poor and she is a "lost" Christian

A rich CEO who is 45 and an atheist and he is very depressed

A soldier who is 32 and confused about a lot of things in life, such as his faith, sexuality, profession, etc.

And a 65 year old potter. She has seen it all (she is basically that aging tree of wisdom)! and she is very committed to her faith, but some thing comes along and really challenges her faith. And to add atop of that she is battling cancer or something like that.

Now the character cast can be changed, but you get the point we can do from 3-5 characters. And you get to play each of these characters to see each of their stories and they slowly come to know each other thru certain events. Now the whole point of this game, in my opinion, should be that it should be a game about real life and that it should be based upon decisions. The endings have various outcomes based upon your decision. *spoiler* if the CEO doesn't change his ways he commits suicide :D Jk. But you get the point! i'll think of more stuff up, but as of now I am really hungry *stomach growls* therefore I can't think of something great.

  • Well it has to be an action RPG :D

  • Ok got anything else carson! I am too tired to write anything good right now. Wait for me on the fifth day and look to the east. I will come with a fleet of good ideas. *five days later fails epically* :D

but we seriously can do this!

    Stand bold, Stand strong!

  • Maybe a game about Biblical battles?

  • It has to be some sort of RPG and......would it be like a simulation thing where you live a life or what? (PS Your grammar is correct. Grammer Nazi out!)

  • I don't think it should be a simulation in all honesty..

  • Neither do I, but at the end he made it sound like it was a simulation or something.

  • Bringing it up for every one to see.

  • Every body check out the really long post that I don't feel like typing again. It's in general discussion. That is all.
