Does anyone know of some good Christian YouTubers?

  •   I am looking for Christian YT personalities to watch with my daughter, since that's one of the ways we are able to spend some time together and get along decently---for the most part, anyways. She's a teenager, so some rebellion is to be expected, although not exactly tolerated-- she still has to be disciplined, but never has she been or will be in any physical or otherwise abusive manner.

Anyway, the kinds of people who I am looking for would be gamers, Pastors--but not the type that seems to condemn everything and everyone under the sun, or who take everything happening in the world as de facto "proof" that the world is coming to an end (it's not, that happens after Christ reigns for 1000 years as King, then this world will end and a new one will be created)---or pretty much anyone who is into studying the bible, discussing biblical stances on world views and events, media entertainment at large, basically anything. As long as they don't come across as being cocky, self righteous or hypocritical, then I am down with that.

Also, if you have any suggestions for decent non-Christian YT channels, that would be appreciated too.  Unfortunately, my daughter has started to watch channels with foul language, and I am not always able to monitor what she sees and hears. She does deserve some privacy, I believe, because she is a young woman now. But the Bible says to "Teach your children in the way they shall go, and they will not soon depart from it." So I am still responsible for her, and I have to teach her how to make good decisions as best as I am able to. I don't mind words like shite, a $$, damn, dammit, crap, piss off (I think that one is kinda funny, like in one of the Harry Potter movies, when Ron told Harry to do so---but I guess that is because I find British people amusing to me.), crikey, hobknocker, hell, bloody hell, etc. Just use your own discretion in this term, but "minor vulgarity" like that is fine with me. But not using the Lord's Name in vain, the "F" bomb and it's various usages, racism, sexism, ageism, or any kind of hateful speech towards other people, no matter what. My one concession is that I will tolerate watching minimal amounts of swearing, provided it is censored. That is just a personal choice, and I am not putting down those who do watch or say those things. People are free to say what they please for the most part, except threaten others, since God gave us free will, for good or bad. But that is a topic for another time, and I think that you are able to grasp what I am trying to say.

So just to give you an example of the types I mean to differentiate. Whether with swearing or not---this is what I consider the secular or non-Christian list. (Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, no yowie! And please forgive me if I spelled it incorrectly.)

      No to:

      PewDiePie

      Vanoss Gaming

Axis Powers Hetalia fan made yowie pics (this is just a personal and, yes, Bibically based preference, and NOT a statement on the subject as to individual rights and their own personal decisions.)

Those are just a few of many that come to my mind.

      Yes to:

      Angry Black Nerd

      The Easter Egg Hunter

      Smosh---for the most part, anyway

      The Diamond Minecart

      Poet Plays

      VenturianTale

      GameExplain

     The Fine Brothers

     WatchMojo

     DidYouKnowGaming (official)

      JeromeASF

      BajanCanadian

Well, you get the drift, I suppose. Right? And if you don't know of any of these YT channels, I can honestly recommend them to you with a clear conscience. Weeeellllll....Smosh is more of an acquired taste, but their humor is more parody than anything---If you like GTA style humor, you will probably like these guys. I will note that they censor themselves before releasing a video, but they have been known to miss a word or two on occasion.

Well then, that'd be it for now. I hope to hear from you all soon, and I hope you enjoyed your weekend!

God bless you, and Happy Gaming!!!

  • Well...as far as good Christian channels are concerned, here's a list: Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (apologetics), ReasonableFaith (apologetics), Tiffany Sullivan (discussion on Acts, some apologetics), oneminuteapologist (apologetics), Christianity Reason and Science (apologetics mostly), CS Lewis (apologetics), timhawkinscomedy (Christian comedy), askcliffe (apologetics). I love apologetics, in case you didn't know. These are all good Christian channels that will help both you and your daughter. As far as gaming channels are concerned, here's another list: VaatiVidya (all Souls games, some occasional language), The Game Theorists (gaming related theories), Creepy Gaming (horror games and creepypastas, occasionally vulgar language). I hope that this helps.

1 Peter 3:15 (NASB): "But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence."

  • There's also Pon Story. He's new to YouTube but not to GIO, though he's not on the site anymore. He has a gaming channel on YouTube, and he's a Christian.

1 Peter 3:15 (NASB): "But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence."

  • Thanks! I will be checking some of these out then. I never played any of the "Souls" games yet, but I might get one now that psn store is having a sale on horror related games and stuff like that.  So I will probably skip that for the time being, I hate spoilers!

  • Fans of Demon Souls and both Dark Souls just refer to the games collectively as the Souls series.  I recommend them.  They're challenging but rewarding and have very deep gameplay and stories.  VaatiVidya is only one of the YouTubers that covers the games' lore.

1 Peter 3:15 (NASB): "But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence."

  • For LP channels, I would say StephenPlays. For general YT channels, I would say PBS/Game Show, PeanutButterGamer, TheJWittz, ThatOneVideoGamer/The Completionist (most of this channel. They've gotten better about not swearing, but occasionally he goes off on [censored] rants.). Christian channel: The Skit Guys. They're hillarious.

  • Rhett and Link are Christian Youtubers with 2 different channels: Good Mythical Morning, their show on Mondays through Fridays, and Rhett and Link, where they post small business commercials and funny music videos.

  • Yeah, Rhett and Link are pretty good. I have seen them a few times, but I didn't know that they are Christian, so that's pretty cool.

  •  We both love PBG, he's funny and doesn't have a potty mouth, but some of his pals he plays Minecraft and Terraria Hardcore I don't care much for. My daughter is a big Nintendo and Pokemon fan, so of course we watch JWittz. I think we have seen just about all of The Completionist videos too---Beard mode engaged!

I will definitely look into The Skit Guys, thanks for the tip!

  • I will check him out sometime soon then.

Btw, Revelations is my favorite book in the Bible, and I have been into studying all of the prophecy books in the Word since I was about 10 years old. Do you know of anyone who discusses such topics? I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about the subject, though not an expert, and I like to hear other people's takes about these things.  I actually ran a discussion group at our church for a while, but unfortunately it kind of fizzled out because  everyone usually had other plans made, and some stopped going after some heated discussions involving anti-Semitism---of which I definitely do not approve of. I find it hard to believe that there are a lot of so-called "Christians" who would even support  that view, considering that Jesus Christ is Jewish. And to call Jewish people "Christ killers" is just plain stupid. If they were to read the Bible, then they would know it was the Romans who did so at the urging of Roman appointed religious leaders who were afraid to lose their power and place in Judea.

Anyway, didn't mean to go on like that. So, if you know of anyone into prophecy, please let me know.

  • I don't follow many YouTubers, let alone any Christian ones so this thread has helped me! I'll have to make sure to check in on them. So you've seen Rhett and Link.James? How about JulianSmith? His videos are clean and he's hilarious.

  • I was in a study group at church that was going through Revelations. It got pretty intense sometimes. We'd have to come back next week and continue where the heated discussions were left off.

  • If you're looking for something non game related there is Ray Comfort's channel Living Waters/The Way of the Master. I don't always agree with him but for the most part I like his work. He's got a really good pocket book about the scientific facts in the bible that I recommend to pretty much anyone willing to listen. He also doesn't bash everything contemporary but he will point out the sinful nature of something if it's there.

  • Yeah, but Pon insults me a lot. Not holding that against him, but yeah. He called me a coward because I wouldn't put my real name on the site.

  • Well, I know Pon better than most of the members of GIO (particularly his haters), and I won't excuse the fact that he insults people. But he's certainly a very good friend and Christian. Many people judge him too quickly.

1 Peter 3:15 (NASB): "But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence."
