I love to read. Ever since I was a little kid I always managed to have my nose stuck in a book. I don't read as much as I used to, unfortunately, but I'm working on correcting that. In the spirit of supporting good habits I decided to make this thread because I'm always on the lookout for a good book, even though I have a pile of shame stretching up to the ceiling of books I bought and still haven't touched.
So if you have any good recommendations of past or current books, please sound off. I literally just started reading Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse by James Wesley, Rawles, and I'm only on the second chapter. He has a sequel, Survivors: A Novel of the Coming Collapse, which I also bought and will read when I'm finished with Patriots.
I tend to stick with fiction, but I will stray to non-fiction if I find the subject matter interesting enough.
Surviving when the !@#$ hits the fan =)
Actually some members in the group here might find them appealing since the books have a decidedly Christian flavor to them; little things like the group (the group in the book) praying to God thanking Him for protecting them, stuff like that. Little interjections and references to God here and there throughout the book.
I'm up to chapter eight so far.
I'm reading two books right now, Ont Called The Compound by S.A. Bodeen and the other The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. The first is about living in an underground compound after a nuclear war destroyed almost everyone. The second is about living on a different planet after a germ killed off many humans on Earth. Both books are really interesting so far.
One died in India. Three was tracked down in Brazil. I am the only one left. I am The Second Musketeer
Cool, those sound like something I'd like to check out after I'm finished reading mine. End of the world and doomsday scenario books seem to be all the rage recently, huh? =P
I forgot to add, along with the book above, I'm also reading Stephen King's The Stand. I actually started reading this book last year but stopped. Saw it on my bookshelf and decided to get back to it. I have to read multiple books at a time or else I'd die if I waited to read them all one at a time.
