Well Ive seen the new pilot multiple times now, and personally I'm really enjoying how Korra is shaping up. I like the characterization theyve given her so far, and loving the character of Tenzen as well. I also like how theyre taking the series in a completely new direction by basing it in Republic City rather than having the characters roam around the world like they did in Avatar. seems like theyre really trying to do something different with this series, yet maintain a lot of the aspects that made TLA great, and personally i think theyre suceeding on this. the only thing i have a problem with is it throws me off how the avatar world has apparently gone from medieval asia to the victorian era in roughly 80 years. I suppose its supposed to be something like the peace between the nations spurned scientific advancement and everything, but it still seems odd to me.
I completely agree with you SuperKing. I was wondering how they were going to keep it from being more of the same, but they seem to be doing a perfect job of changing it just enough to make it fresh. I'm really looking forward to next week's episode.
Same. Do you guys think that hobo in the park will play a role later in the story. Also, what do you think the revolution will do next?
i hope the hobo comes back XD
I agree mostly with you, SK. I just saw the episode, and I think it was pretty good. I don't understand how they have radios and electricity now, though I don't remember them having those in TLA. I'm also dissapointed that they didn't show some of the other TLA characters in their old age, instead of just Katara.I would've loved to see Sokka as an old man. I wonder how the relationship between Bolin, Maku, and Katara will take shape as the series goes on. I loved the action scenes alot too. Meelo was the best character :)
@ SK: You have to remember that this mythos is entirely different from what we would consider the norm. IN TLA, the Fire Nation had tanks, carriers, and if I remember correctly, even airplanes. I believe that TLA always had steampunk influencees, but it's just now really showing off in Korra, especially in episode 3.
Fan-art is a great thing! This was the last I worked on.

So i just watched the new episode. i like how they arent wasting any time in creating an interesting, powerful villian who isnt even necessarily evil, just idealistic in a way thats counter to the hero. really interested to see how this shapes up.
Oh Amon... you crazy... :P
Highlight of the episode.
@ PR: Definitely! Bolin got some great lines in that episode XD
And nobody can deny... Fire ferrets are the greatest fictional animal in all of existence!
@ Benderstrike: I don't know, I think the hobo was just a goofy sidecharacter. After watching episode 3, I'm assuming that they'll role out in to the city in some kind of non-bender protest. OR at least, that's what I would like to see
Okay, I feel pretty safe in saying that Episode 4 was BY FAR THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER AIRED ON TELEVISION, EVAR.
Holy crap, the flashbacks of adult characters from TLA was heart-stopping.
