The lights are on
Needing to brainstorm about the next big breakthru for video games as we know it? Well come on in and chill with like minds in The I.G.D.Group!
This is a forum where you can come to discuss different Indie Games that are out there and talk about where you found them, how much, the pros and cons...Oh!! You know what I mean! Have fun.
This battle......will be EPIC!
Is anyone interested in talking about their experience designing games here?
the only experience i hav is game maker and im not even good at that. i do have awsome ideas but not knowing how to make them kills it. more of a designer than programmer
yeah, unfortunately, I have no experience. I don't know anyone who programs, so I haven't been able to toy with making video games. All my experience comes in with making movies, which I haven't done much of either, cause I only know a few people to work on that stuff with too. And, I personally know little to none about programing. I'm more interested in the designing aspect also.
ive made some movies in my day too :P
I'm about to transfer to Columbia for game dev. and filmmaking. Only real experiance I have is using a small 2D game engine from yo-yo games to create some side scroller games. I mainly focus on dev work or story. I do like working on the programing though.
"I may be broke in real life, but I've got a million gold in WoW!!" -- my buddies logic
I do not currently program either, but am planning to go to college for Computer Science/Programming. Right now I am looking at some game-programming specific software from the Game Creators. They have software ranging from no experience whatsoever to experience and professional. If your interested, here is the link. http://thegamecreators.com/ have fun and good luck! TheGameCreators also has 3d rendering software, level design software, and game engines. I am uploading photos of games made with TheGameCreators to our groups files tab.
I'm currently making a Non-Combat RPG called Haven. The game will be used in my portfolio later on in life. I'm using RPG Maker VX to make it since I'm a writer/developer myself rather than the programming type.
If you want more information on it or want to play it just check below:
I do ask that you give FF (Feedback Food) though. ;)
Looks good, though I am wondering how large of an audience you will reach because of the non-combat part.
I have a player base of 51 people as of right now. That will decrease since the Ff due date is tomorrow meaning those who haven't handed in FF get booted.
No combat, sure, but every quest (about 30) is entirely unique in their own way. No quest repeats the same puzzle or method of competition.
Cool. Well, good luck on that Haven! It sounds good.
You can play it you know. :P
I probably will sometime, just pretty busy working with school and trying to get my own game up and running right now.
You guys should check out Gamesalad - no programming experience required, free download. Mac only though, alternatives would include Game Maker and Stencyl.
