The lights are on
Welcome to the Game Informer Writer's Guild. This is the group for users who want to get best out of their website experience. This is a great place to learn the trick of blogging, profile editing and more. You can also easily bookmark the guild at http://
Game Informer wants you!
Ok, that was lame. But it's true. We are looking for good writers and users to help make our community better. This group is all about helping people create better content for the site, so please use this resource to make yourself stand out on the site, and help others become better reporters and critics.
The staff and I will be watching for people that stand out, as we want to get more man on the street reporting, from local events to different perspectives on the events that define the industry.
We will be looking for ways to reward users who stand out, from ranking up on the site so that you can eventually blog side-by-side with the staff, to special events as we move forward with the site.
Favorite this group and let us know what tips you have for better writing and reporting and we will do the same.
Editor-In-Chief, Game Informer
Oh yeah, over the coming weeks (which I'm sure will turn into months as we make improvements on the site) we will post up some of style guides that we use to make the magazine and website.
This is a great idea guys, good work.
Remember: Three can keep a secret if two are dead. That said, you know what you have to do.
So happy you added this feature, it reminds me very much of what BitMob is doing. I look forward to contributing, next week I'm heading to LA for a THQ event so you can expect a full report to be posted once it's over!
This is looking pretty cool. I have never blogged before, but I am planning to start now due to your "How To Get Started Blogging..." guide. Yes I linked that to try it
out. I am hoping that my writings will be entertaining to those who read them thanks to the guiding hand of the professionals. I just want to say good job; three
years well spent.
It's nice to see the new site up and running, the wait was becoming quite suspenseful. I'm enjoying what I see at the moment and I'm sure the site will only continue to approve. I hope this group leads to some nice content and maybe it will even be able to help me improve my own site. (sorry, it's not the internet unless people shamefully *** out their own content)
Sounds like a plan. I have great ideas in mind for what I want to blog about.
Tried my first blog and already thought of some ways I could have made it better. I should have checked out all the tips first.
The Writers Guild is great, I am planning on becoming a writer, so this can be a great opportunity for me.
love this idea. i am a writer at heart and am always looking for ways to express myself in that medium. hopefully i can get people who like my stuff to read and enjoy it. thanks for the opportunity.
Put me in the group of people that have never blogged before. But I'm willing to give this a shot. :)
I'm looking forward to seeing the diversity of all the folks who will choose to participate. Kudos on this site and the new look of the magazine, Andy and all ya'll at Game Informer.
As an aside, I liked seeing a few female names on the editors page. That's the first thing I look at when it comes in the mail. I noticed you didn't show their pictures, though. That was mighty sneaky, heh, heh.
As an atypical game enthusiast in a world that is slowly becoming full of atypical gamers, I'm happy to see the democratization of this site and the inevitable contributions that will be made by folks like "your mother" (ahem, meaning me).
Awesome! I'm excited to see what happens!
I've posted my first blog a couple of weeks ago, I'll post a part 2 someday and others things too when I think of something cool.
I love writing! Whever I hit a wall in my 3D, I usually pull out my binder and write some stories. Some game related, some not, but I find it allows me to get the creative juices flowing again so I can keep up with my 3D. I will be posting some stories in my blog over the next few days so if your interested in reading a story or two, come check it out!
Great idea for a group! If anyone is going to be posting some crazy stories let me know. I want to see what kind of minds are involved in this group.
Check out my game environment website! Made some pretty stuff for games!
