seiler: I disagree. I don't personally blog on here, but I wouldn't want to be limited. However, some sort of way to show posts that have their rating taken into effect to determine how longs it's on the main page would be nice.

I agree with this post. We're talking about a kudos system for comments and blog posts now for consideration for a future site update, and this fits right in with that.
We wouldn't want to be limited to how many blog posts we write ourselves, and would want to treat our users to the same courtesy.

I kinda like that idea. Maybe if the average rating after 10 ratings is 2 stars or less it could get removed from the front blog page.
Yeah, but some good blogs get crap ratings just because the fanboys disagree with what they say. This is also true of the GI crew's articles, which are generally well-written, but get lower ratings if people don't like the news (which is an issue of content, not the quality of the writing or the questions raised). I think that rating things that way is not in the spirit of the ratings system, but is a reality of the internets.
*edit* Which is not to say I disagree with the idea of a kudos system to determine what stays on the top page; just that going off of the star ratings alone is problematic. I would also add that via the different filters (ie most popular and most recent) you can work around the issue of blog spammers -as they are unlikely to have more than one blog in a given time with a high popularity rating, and if they do...
nevaR!
There is a fix for this that will go out tomorrow afternoon. I apologize, it is a new feature that came with its own new bug. I can assure you that isn't how it was designed or how it tested, but that doesn't stop it from being busted now.
I've already got a fix for it and you'll see this resolved sometime tomorrow.
Thanks.
Went ahead and fixed it now. :-) Hopefully that'll do it.
I don't know if this has already been requested, but would it be possible to make a folder for all of the Sticky threads in the Forums?
With all of the necessary Stickies we have, that only leaves room for four other Forum threads on the front page.
Last.fm
Why not limit the number of blogs a person writes a day. Like staff would have unlimited, but users could be put into blog groups that limit the number of blogs written. Just an idea...
For subscribers since the forum isn't much of a perk. Why not have subscriber only content like polls or resources.
Another idea, how about more freedom over our profiles. Like custom CSS.
I say keep up the fine work gentleman( and ladies) I like the site. It keeps me occupied. Id like to see a little more action in the forums, but thats more to do with population and not the overseers problem, I know. All in all fine work, and I think someone should commend you guys for keeping this up and running, even if there is a minor hiccup here and there.
I dont need a GIF-yes Im that awesome.
Night (Eyes): I'm thinking conversations but with multiple people. Theres the guys I really enjoy talking to Im not going to list them but they are all in my custom friends list I made, And I think it would be cool for multiple people and friends to converse in a group with out the rest of the GI community butting in or reading whats on people minds.

This is exactly what I came to post about. And I'm pretty sure it's possible, judging by this:
Maybe that's something a mod did, but I would like to be able to set up a conversation where you could invite more people to be a part of it.
I've tried giving links to a conversation to different users, but it doesn't work. It clearly shows on the image Smashter gave it can be possible, but it may be something only a mod can do currently. It certainly would be a nice addition to have one conversation with multiple users.
We used to be able to have multiple people in a conversation. You'd just start one with someone and add more names to the list, but I just tried it and I guess we can't anymore. It wasn't something a mod did either (as far as I know since I wasn't a mod when that one started), just a basic feature. Maybe it's another thing being affected by some update or something, I don't know.
