Only because no one else has added him (which is astounding, as he is often considered the greatest drummer of all time and no thread like this on a drumming forum goes more than 2 posts without him), Buddy Rich.

Anyone who said Travis Barker because he was fast or whatever, check out Buddy Rich, he blows Travis out of the water, not to mention plays a mean jazz.

There is a difference between being different and sucking, the majority of it sucks. I'm all for quality and great sounding new music but the majority of songs that are new being played on these stations suck bad.

I absolutely love that song and have been listening to it a lot lately, a long with a lot of Joe Bonamassa's music. If any one hasnt heard of him, or his music I highly recommend checking it out, the guy is amazing. I would have to say for him being 35 years old he is already a great guitarist along the lines of greats like Clapton and Hendrix.

Genre: Reggae, Ska, Rock (it really depends on what album you listen to)

Check out Closer to the Sun (the song and if you like it the album) and 2am.

Oh, unless you hate weed, there is a lot of weed culture in their music.

Artisit: Nujabes (he's a producer)

Genre: Jazz-hop

Check out Feather, Blessin' it, Highs 2 Lows, Aruaruian Dance, Reflection Eternal, or Luv(sic). All of his albums can be found on Youtube, if you like him listen to Metaphorical Music

As far as Hip-hop goes this guy is the best, and I don't really like hip-hop.

That said, here is some more rappers

Artist: Deltron

Genre: rap

His only album is 3030, its about the year 3030 and has plenty of nerd references. Also listen to del the funky homosapien's song protoculture if you like video games.

Artist: A.S.M (A State of Mind)

Genre: funk/reggae/rap

A bunch of french rappers (in english), its good, check out Platypus Funk.

Artist: Little Women

Genre: rock (with reggae influences)

You're gonna have a hard time finding this on Youtube, you can get some bootlegged live recordings though that are of decent quality. I recommend DKs Starry or something along those lines.

Artist: G. Love

Genre: mellow hip hop

He raps (kinda, not gangster rap by any means) over a lot of bluesy guitar tracks, check out his album Lemonade.

Artist: Wookiefoot

Genre: Reggae (and some funk)

If you like reggae, these guys are great. They are a little overly hippy-esque, but the grooves are awesome.

Artist: Flogging Molly

Genre: Irish

A more Irish and less punk version of the Dropkick Murphy's, I think they are way better.

For me a great hi-fi doesn't necessarily have to be the best-sounding one.

It's more about a sound that draws me in. One CD or LP leads to the next, and I don't want to stop to eat, read, go to bed, or watch TV. A great hi-fi is one that lets the music cut loose. Even cheap gear might have what it takes to get my juices flowing. Take the Velodyne vPulse in-ear headphones; they make too much bass and are far from the most refined headphones, but I keep using them. But there's something about these little headphones that keeps me coming back for more.

I have fond memories of the first hi-fi I bought with my own money--it had a Garrard turntable, XAM speakers and amplifier--and the sound of my Bob Dylan and Doors records was beyond amazing. I never got over that sound, or felt as energized as I did when I was 16 and played my music over that little stereo.

I hope there are a million 16-year-old kids out there listening to headphones right now, experiencing the same sorts of thrills I did. Or maybe it's happening in a car, and they just heard a tune they'll remember forever. For some it might be a home theater that brought movies to life.

As for the best-sounding hi-fi, I have fond memories of playing Wilson Audio Watt/Puppy speakers. That system sounded best when played nice and loud, so rock music had the visceral kick of the real thing. The Watts weren't perfect, they didn't click with classical music, but they were always exciting to listen to.
