Have you ever seen that one movie with that dude in it? Chances are someone here has, and they want to talk to you about it. Grab some popcorn and discuss all things relating to the silver screen.
A Mass Effect movie has been officially announced!
EA has teamed up with Legendary Pictures to make the live action, movie adaption of this popular game franchise. Thomas Tull and and Jon Jashni from Legendary Pictures (producers of The Dark Knight), and Avi Arad (producer of Spiderman) and Ari Arad from Marvel Studios will produce the movie. Although this is a movie, Bioware co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk and Mass Effect executive producer Casey Hudson will still serve as the movie's executive producers.
As for the script, negotiations are in progress between the producers and Mark Protosevich. Mark Protosevich wrote the scripts for both I Am Legend and Thor.
No information has yet been announced about the release date, cast, or story of the Mass Effect movie. However, I assume it will take place in the same era as the the popular Mass Effect game trilogy.
I will continue to update this forum as new information on the Mass Effect movie emerges.
Im So Excited!! ^_^
I'd watch it.

"Mark Protosevich wrote the scripts for both I Am Legend and Thor "
^Worry right there. I haven't seen Thor, but anyone who can take the brilliance of the I am Legend novel and rewrite it to be lame is not someone who I want taking care of the intimacies and subtleties of ME's script. I was actually hoping J.J. Abrams would take the helm, since he did so well with the Star Trek re-boot. I'm definitely excited, and will be looking forward to more info.
I really think this can turn out to be a good thing. If handled right this can be the next Star Wars. Mass Effects story is so deep I believe it could get big if it is handled right and as long as the game creators keep freedom of control over it. Though yes I too am worried about the writer also.I think they should go with a big name writer.
I wonder if it will be any good.
I don't like it. I'm afraid they'll mess it up.
This will be great. Wonder how much longer till it comes out.
Awesome. I can't wait. The game was great
Sick!! This and the possible Splinter cell Movie could mean the melding of video games and hollywood to make decent films will finally be possible!
Thats the great thing about ignorance. If it's terrible then you can choose to be ignorant of the fact that it ever happened!
I'm interested in this, but only if they have a good director and scriptwriter who's really in touch with the lore and vision of the game series. Otherwise, I think it will suck pretty badly. I just hope it doesn't get stuck in dev hell.

Like myself, Mass Effect has a lot going against just by being such a huge project. It could still be good in theory, if nothing else. I wait to pass judgment, like Star Wars, until I see its director and casting choice. Has anyone considered that now we'll have to know what the definitive version of Shephard looks like, let alone that no choice making will be involved?. . .
P.S. : Sorry about the post repeat below, must've hit the button too many times.
