The lights are on
Have you ever seen that one movie with that dude in it? Chances are someone here has, and they want to talk to you about it. Grab some popcorn and discuss all things relating to the silver screen.
I've had this movie for about a month, waiting for my gf and I to have enough time to watch it together. When I saw the preview it looked pretty good and I heard it got nominated for 9 academy awards. Has anyone seen this film and if you have, how do you think it performed as a drama about a Middle East conflict? Compared to other recent Iraq-war themed films movies such as Stop-Loss, Home of the Brave, and In the Valley of Elah.
I haven't seen it.
I'll have to wait for either a re-release or just wait for it to hit the TV.
It's a really good movie. It's an Iraq war movie that isn't about the Iraq war. It's more about this one guy and how war is a drug/obsession to him. It's interesting.
It has a 94 on Metacritic. It's gonna be good
Ya i finally saw it. It was a pretty good movie. I liked that it was a war movie, but more about the experiences that the soldiers go through. Also that it's in modern times, rather than an experiences from another older war. Thought it had a great cast, and the cinematography was pretty nice too. It had a raw kind of feeling to it. Sort of reminds me of how Michael Mann does his films. I will be sort of surprised if it wins more academy awards than Avatar though. Avatar graphically is one of the most impressive movies I've seen. One could argue that the story was ok at best, but majority of people didn't go watch Avatar for the story.
I havn't seen it but I need to.
I enjoyed it quite a bit, and I was really glad that it won the oscar.
This was a terrible movie. It didn't even come close to portraying life in the Middle East or the life of a soldier. There were mistakes within the first five minutes of the movie. Second, EOD does not operate like this at all. This movie wouldn't have been half as bad if it didn't try to sell that it accurately portrayed military life. The only message The Hurt Locker got right was the acclimation from a combat zone to the real world. The only military movie that sucked worse than this was Stop-Loss. In my opinion
totally sweet movie. renners characters crazy as hell, i love that he goes in for another year at the end
Beer is the answer, but I can't remember the question.
Such an amazing movie. One of the best war movies ever,
I have seen some parts and they were pretty good.
The Hurt Locker was a very tense and suspenseful movie. I know a couple people who ended up getting parts of their bodies blown off from doing those operations, so I appreciated how the film didn't pander and kept its approach cautious without being melodramatic.
