  • Uncharted would be amazing! Just started to play Uncharted 2 Among Thieves.

  • An Uncharted movie would be interesting, but I'd like to see a Portal film or Half Life. Better yet, I want Clint Eastwood to direct a Red Dead Redemption film.

  • Like most people, I believe that, while as awesome as they are, most games can't translate into good films for many reasons. Whether due to overwhelming story arcs that can't be explained in only 2-3 hrs. or focusing on gameplay too much, I think that Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, and Mass Effect would be the most interesting. All of them have that cinematic quality already and would be great if done well. I already like the casting of Michael Fassbender playing as just about any assassin.

I agree with Tim Gruver, but I think a Metal Gear movie would be interesting.  There would be a problem, in my opinion, primarily with where you would start.  Would you start with Metal Gear, which isn't an emotionally driven story, or Metal Gear Solid 3, the literal beginning, or Metal Gear Solid, the first emotionally driven story in the series.  And by starting on the middle and latter, you would miss gaps from the Metal Gears themselves.  And there would also be a big problem with finding a good actor that looks like the characters, especially Solid Snake and Big Boss.  I think it'd still be interesting, though.

  • True. I guess that falls into the problem I have with video-game movies having to cover so much territory in so little time.

You could just do an original Metal Gear universe to save on complexity, but that would just be throwing away what makes the series great. I think the best strategy for them is to do some sort of inter-quel between movies that doesn't nuke the fridge on canon but can be its own story. I vote for going into Ground Zeroes territory and cover more of the Big Boss's adventures before Zanzibar land and develop Outer Heaven more. From there you can choose to have the movie stand alone or move into Solid Snake's era.

Casting Snake would be hard, but whoever they get, unknowns are usually the best options. I want the live-action Snake to JUST be Snake for me and no one else.

  • Peace Walker might be a nice start with flashbacks to MGS 3 for a general understanding of what's happened.  From there, they could go to Ground Zeroes, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, and so on chronologically.
