The lights are on
Have you ever seen that one movie with that dude in it? Chances are someone here has, and they want to talk to you about it. Grab some popcorn and discuss all things relating to the silver screen.
Like most of the people here I have seen movies that are based off of video games. Some of those movies were epicly awesome( ex. Hitman, Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, ect...). Then there were movies that made ya just wanna say Blahhh( ex. Doom, Bloodrayne, Street Fighter: Rise of Chun Lee, ect..). And now with the announcement of a Prince of Persia movie it got me thinking, What game are they gonna make into a movie next? So give me your thoughts on what game should be made into a movie.
My perdiction is that they are gonna make another Hitman movie or finally make a Halo movie. I would like to also see a God of War movie but I'm still iffy on the concept of it.
The Mass Effect movie is in the works.
If you bred HK-47, Shale, Chai Ka and Wrex, the gaming world would explode from sheer badassery.
Well there a few.
I read that Dark Void might be getting done as well as Bioshock.
I think there was a Dead Space movie that was being made too
Actually yoshiman the Dead Space movie is already out I checked it out on demand, (I didn't have netflix at the time) it was ok it was an anime it had some good stuff in there...lots of action perked my interest in the game so when I get the chance I'm going to play it...
@Big you mentioned the Chun Li Street Fighter movie and completely forgot to mention the total awesomeness that was Raul Julia last film where he played Bison...complete with a continue button that was the best part...
They will call me communist, they will call me scum. But it's worth it, Canadians will think we're smart, at least they'll think we are not as dumb.
I thought he was talking theatrical movies though
@Nick- Yeah I didn't know if people would get upset that I named the Street Fighter movie with him in it a good or bad so I left it up to you guys to judge what was good and what was bad. I personally thought it was a good movie and he did excellent in it.
Oh it was so incredibly awesome at the time, I watched it recently and I was unfortunately very upset, for once it was hollywood stealing my childhood, I did not only stole my childhood but evaporated it in the sun...but Raul Julia was awesome, shame he died, he was also in Overdrawn at The Memory Bank and if you like MST3K you have to check that episode out it's so fricking hilarious...
@yoshiman I hadn't heard about a theatrical release...I'll have to check it out...
The movies I had in mind where theatrical but I will count anime or any other form
I just hope if games get turned into movies more often, that they are done well and not just cheap and rushed films. I think the better they make them, the more games will be taken seriously as form of media and entertainment.
I totatlly agree man
I am, at the moment, hopeful about the new Kane & Lynch movie. I think the original premise of the story (like a buddy cop kind of story except they are the exact opposites of cops) could turn out quite well on screen. I think that even Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx, as Kane & Lynch, could turn out to have great chemistry and could really make the movie if the story isn't all that great. I'm interested in it.
Mass Effect would be very expensive to make (Avatar and Dark Knight expensive: 150 million plus). Dead Space has great potential; very Alien-esque and it has been proven that you can make a sci-fi film on a film set for $5 million dollars (Moon). I would like to see a movie based on Uncharted. Forget Chris Evans for Capt. America and make him Nathan Drake. Garrett Hedlund would have been better.
I'm definitely not the biggest fan of Chris Evans, so if he was cast to play Nathan Drake I would be skeptical. He was fine in Fantastic Four even though I hate the film, but I think it was because he plays that kind of douchey character well. I'm not sure what to think of him as Captain America, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like him as Nathan Drake. Nathan has a charm about him that I don't think Chris Evans has.
