I do the same thing when it comes to those kinds of movies. I really like Transformers 1 because it new it was kind of stupid, it had a ton of action, I liked the characters to an extent, and it was kind of nostalgic since I loved the toys and tv shows when I was younger. Transformers 2 on the other hand, tried to be complex with its storyline and it ended up being REALLY dum and incoherent. The characters were barely in it and when they were, they were just used for slapstick jokes. The worst part was that I couldn't even enjoy the action because of all of the fast cuts and the close ups. It got to a point where I didn't even know who was fighting who and what was even happening! So there is a fine line between the dum movies I enjoy and the ones I hate. For example, Crank 2 knows its dum and uses it to its advantage by trying to top itself at being over the top and ridiculous. Transformers 2 is dum but tries to sound smart. A lot of the problems in the movie make it more frustrating to watch than enjoyable. I'm glad you agree with what I said about debating films. It really is fun!
