Well, Geoff Johns chose to stop, so he could focus on the Justice League titles, but it's a shame people are so rascist, if they don't like, they shouldn't read it. Honestly, Simon Baz is what made me subscribe to it.
The Marvel NOW! "reboot" style sucked, but I also agree that some good things came out of it (Superior Spiderman, X-Men). I know I've been hating on Marvel lately, but it's for this reason: The way DC does things is based on being accesible/fun to read, the way Marvel does things is based on making money.
you haven't been hating on marvel lately, also DC and Marvel are both in it for the money, the only companies making comics that actually care about quality over the amount of money they get are the independent publishers but its still not by much. Companies like Image and IDW and all those other guys strive for a better product (just check the paper stock they use versus the big two books for starters) but comic books are still a business and Marvel and DC have plenty of big business skeletons in their closet. DC and Marvel are constantly trying to screw not only the people working for them but their customers too, seeing as this is a thread for articles I'll probably have to post some examples so let me dig up some stories and get back to you

@Chaos: Hear! Hear!
Off the top of my head I can tell two things about the Big Two. During DC's Flashpoint event, Marvel offered retailers a special variant-if they tore off the covers of some Flashpoint books and mailed them in. No joke. I heard that something similar happened during Blackest Night but haven't confirmed. Nevermind-confirmed.
For DC, they stupidly fired Gail Simone, only to rehire her relatively shortly afterwards. I'm not fond of Simone's Batgirl, but I'm sure that's due, in part, to the editorial restrictions placed on her.
I'm sure there's a ton more stuff out there so have at it.

Oh my god, that Marvel one is terrible, just total douchebaggery.
Also, just off the top of my head, theres the whole "52 state variants" for JLA#1, that are really just the same cover with a different flag being raised for each one.
It's a weird idea. No one is going to buy that many copies of the same comic with that small difference.
if you think that then you haven't been reading comics for very long
and with DC there was all that crap with Chris Roberson a few months back where he basically said he didn't want to work for DC since his series was getting cancelled and he was tired of how Editorial had been treating writers lately and he'd be there to finish it up and also a story he'd submitted for Fairest and DC said no you're fired, we'll run the rest of your comic because you're under contract but we aren't going to run your Fairest story, too tired to grab a link right now to back it up
@Jagedar, Cameron, and Chaos: Yeah those variants will definitely sell. I grab the occasional variant but most don't interest me.
@Chaos: Yeah, given the crappy writing of most of the New 52 books, editorial douchebaggery seems to be running rampant.
I was LITERALLY watching the Great Liefeld Vs. Synder Battle take place. #Awesome
Connection Is Power
@Mr.Exclusive: Whaaat?! I haven't heard of this.
@Queso Yeah, a Direct Message Convo on Twitter turned into a Back & Forth were EVERYONE could see it on Twitter. Liefeld was talking about how Synder's Batman was terrible or something. And he told the cancelled titles BEFORE DC announced that they were cancelled. IT. WAS. CRAZY.
When did this happen!?
Sometime last year, I forget when but, around when Wave 3 was about to be announced.
Now that you mention it it sounds familiar.
@Mr.Exclusive: Wow! This isn't the first time that Liefeld has done similar things. He also put down other Deadpool writers not too long back. I'd have to look into it more but it seems that this is further confirmation that he's a huge jerk.
