@Queso: Yeah thanks I`m not good at being organized, and about the thing about people stealing your Ideas, I`m just going to print this thread.
Powers(abilites?)
The Owl can have wings when he needs them, they pop out of his back at will (see Icarus wings in God of War) and the wings look like giant owl wings.
I had a character like that when i was a kid, he was like the vulture but more monstrous, his wings sprouted from his arms and he had talons for hands, that could work for you
"If you really loved me you'd all kill yourselves right now" -Spider Jerusalem
Yay, Chaos is back!
Thanks for the idea , but my guy`s wings are not connected to his arms and, I dont know if I said it or not, but he DOES have talons that pop out of his fingers at will.
@Cameron the Caped Crusader: In responding to an earlier post you made, given how severe Owl is, also giving him a sense of humor might make him seem too similar to ones like Deadpool or even Moon Knight. As for the circles under his eyes, are they birth marks or does he paint them on like war colors? Also, how did he get the wings? It's neat that you and Chaos have similar characters. Do you plan to incorporate owl based lore into Owl's characterization, history, powers, etc.?
@Chaos is Beauty: Welcome back to the fray!
My pull list
Vae Victis.
Vocatus atque non vocatus deus aderit.
Finally back after a long weekend and work last night.
@cameron- I would just scrap the whole crimsonwing idea due to the similarities to other comics/storylines that have been done. Besides your owlman idea seems to be getting alot better and would be better to focus on just one character for now.
Definitely liking the whole vampire idea you've taken with the story and it sounds pretty solid.
Also I'm guessing that vamps can't fly according to your mythology or are the wings more for appearance/weaponry?
Also I'd scrap the idea of the collapsible weapons just because most publishers wouldn't take on the idea of a new type of metal mainly because it causes more problems than anything. (I've only known dc to do it once and marvel twice).
As an alternative I would have the metal wings be weapons or have a sword hidden into the wings on either side that he can dual wield.
Also I would be careful again with the owlman or mothman names due to both being used/possibly copyrighted by dc.
Alternative for this could be that if you want to keep the creature of the night maybe go with something like noctoris or play with variations of the dracula or owls theme.
Vittoria per gli Assassini!
my guy was a vicious monster, he worked nicely as a villain, not sure where you're going with it since im just skimming, I'll have to come back when I have more time and read through the previous posts
ok, I can totally see the owl being sort of in line with the spider or night raven, or the shadow, kind of a pulp character
This is the first time I have ever left feedback on a comic book idea so let me now if I'm no good at it. I have always been a fan of the more bonkers premises in comics. At times the less realistic the character or universe is, the better. As you were describing The Owl I could not help but imagine a giant anthropomorphic owl who can speak well and move similarly to a human. You could keep the weapons even but he would also have talons he could fight with. He has wings so he can fly, he could also have gadgets, but I cant think of any. He is an owl so he would be self-centered (I just imagine that all owls are jerks), he could have a sense of humor but you could play on the fact that he is an owl by having him make inappropriate jokes. Not dirty but situationally. By making him an actual owl I think you set yourself up for better villans as well and lets be honest, a hero is nothing without awesome villans. They could be anything from super criminals to mutated versions of an owls natural predators. Like I said, this is my first time leaving feedback so i apologize if I have totally mangled your idea.
ok, anthropomorphic pulp comics, they've already done anthro noir books (blacksad anyone?) you should totally just make a ridiculously bonkers anthropomorphic animals pulp comic, complete with an overwrought and hilarious inner monologue
I HAVE A KNEW GROUND BREAKING IDEA!!! A vigilante who has been wronged by a corrupt fascist government in London, fights to restore freedom along with a young naive 16 year old girl.
He also does it with extreme brutality
this isn't a joke thread, please refrain from copying things like v for vendetta
First I agree with what chaos just said, this isn't a joke thread. We're here trying to help with REAL ideas not ones that are obviously plagiarized!
@chaos- I can't tell if you're joking or not about the animal pulp comic or not.
@famesrevenge- in my opinion you're not giving bad advice but his idea and spin on the vampire mythology seems to be be a better idea because it keeps the human factor and relatability of the the character.
Again these are just my opinions
Man hearing all these great ideas and honest help you guys are giving is making me think about digging up my old scattered notes for my hero/comic idea and seeing what kind of help you guys can give. I'll see how this goes and think about it but incase I do, my favorite brand/comic style is dc and the main problem I kept running into was that my character seemed to similar to guardian.
