I've been buying all my spider-man books off amazon . You can get pretty good deals on them , even hardcovers , sometimes you can get great deals buying them used . If you buy the ones that say " like new " , you would never even know to look at it that it was used .
I stick to my local comic book shop. I got a couple of awesome ones right around the corner that give me massive discounts for being such a loyal customer for so long. I've been going to one shop for 8 years. I get my books at roughly 40% off there. It's awesome.
Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words:
"With great power comes great responsibility." This is my gift, my
curse. Who am I? I'm Spider-Man.
I only have 1 rinky dink little comic book store here , they never have what I want .
Let's see...... Play the Game Read the Story; which is a comic book and hobby shop with products including card games (Magic: The Gathering, WoW TCG, POKeMon), board games and tabletop games (Warhammer, D&D, etc), Comix Zone, Bullseye Darts and Comics; which sells pub-style games and accessories such as billiards, darts, cards etc., Cloud City Comics, Walt's Hobbies, Books End, Flying Turtle Comics and Toys, R&M Comics and DVDs, and a couple others.
I go to Play the Game Read the Story for my hobby and game needs, as I play Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer and Dungeons & Dragons, and HeroClix as well as having my DC titles in a pull box there. They give me 25%% off all my purchases because I tend to drop a lot of money in the story every time I walk in, as HeroClix and Warhammer are NOT cheap games to play at all.
Bullseye Dart's and Comics is run by my main man, Randy, who gets me all of my Marvel, Image, Darkhorse and independent comics. I've been going to him for 8 years now every week, spending a lot of money per month in his store not only on my massive amounts of Marvel comics, but he sells a lot of collector's items such as character figurines and action figures, which I grab every Venom, Carnage and Spider-Man figurine he gets that pertains to my interest. I have roughly 30 different Spider-Man figures on display in my comic room. Yes. I have a room in my apartment devoted solely to comics. My girlfriend calls me a nerd. Daily.
I'm going to have a room just like that one day but mainly with dc figres and other ones i have like my transformers, an beat up TMNT figures ( I used to throw them into my ceilling fan and whatch them fly acros the room in to the walls).
My comic book store will give me a discount, only if i'm like a couple dollars short (which is rare because i plan things out with my money.) But i've only gone there for a year or so now.
I live in a 3 bedroom apartment with just my girlfriend and I. We use one bedroom as a spare in case family or friends come over and stay and I have my 'office' which is where I do all of my artwork and keep my desktop computer and comics. It's covered in shelves with various figures on them and a few expensive statue/ettes. I have some of my more valuable comics displayed in frames such as Amazing Fantasy #15 and Incredible Hulk #1, both signed. I have a few pieces of artwork up as well, all of which are comic related, such as concept drawings of famous characters by various artists and such. I have all of my comics in long boxes lined up across the walls and stacked accordingly. I have a lot of comics. A LOT of comics. I'm fortunate enough to have a girlfriend who understands my nerd-dom and not only tolerates it, but encourages it. She plays Xbox with me all the time.
I don't have hat many comics yet, mine fit about half of a chest i have in my room, but i'm sure one day i'll have tons. I think i have over 200 right now.
Wow we went way off topic.
200 is a good start. And yeah, we deviated a little bit. It happens.
it's too bad they killed off Kassidy, he was one of those truly insane and deadly villains that is rarely seen in comics, he rivals the Joker in the amount of damage he can do, reading Maximum Carnage I was legitimately frightened, frightened by the idea of a killer of Kassidy's magnitude being given the power to do whatever he wants, with no one to stop him, there's something deeply disturbing about that, and it's sad to have lost that character
"If you really loved me you'd all kill yourselves right now" -Spider Jerusalem
Kassidy isn't necessarily dead though. I was just reading through some of my old comics and wanted to figure out exactly what happened, and nowhere does it say that Cletus Kassidy is dead. In fact, the Carnage symbiote that the Sentry ripped apart outside of Earth's atmosphere may not have had a host in it. It could have been acting on it's own without Kassidy, just like how the Venom symbiote can act and live without a host.
that's what I was saying! dude, I knew the symbiote was "dead" but I noted that it never actually said Kassidy was in it, and remember the last time we saw Kassidy he had been separated from the symbiote and was continuing his spree with face paint that looked like the symbiote
Exactly. Kassidy could be the 'new' host of the symbiote. As far as we know, there is no way to actually KILL a symbiote. You can only tear it apart and break it down into individual cells. Nothing is preventing it from, say, reforming. The Carnage symbiote is back.
maybe someone else'll get the symbiote and Kletus will find out about it because of his blood connection to it, that would be pretty neat to have him trying to kill the new host in order to get back what he probably believes is his
