  • @Gaming Warthog: You know, I've also heard great things about WW but never picked up the series. Aquaman has made me really respect the character and has given some decent perspective on his past and how it compelled him to become who he is today. The conflict he feels as an Atlantean living on the surface world has really felt real in this series.

@Cameron: Definitely have to agree with you on JLA. That's how you do a first issue covering that many characters. I even think it did an okay job spanning the gap between it and Justice League, but as I read Justice League I'm biased. I'd like to see how someone who doesn't read JL felt about it. I'm glad you're more involved in comics now because of the reboot. Besides making money, getting more readers was part of their goal so it's good that that's working for them. Thanks for the very precise confirmation of the creative team change for ST; I think I'll wait to see wait and see what  people's reaction to the new team is before deciding to jump in. If it's too disjointed I'll just get a trade(s) of the previous run.

@Chaos: Thanks for the stamp of approval for Swamp Thing. I also loved Severed so that's another great title to put out there. I think I knew that Swamp Thing and Animal Man were connected because of The Rot or something like that but that's all I know. I'll definitely try to catch up with those with trades as I, like you, am not liking the creative team change and would rather go into ST with what you and lots of others have endorsed as a pretty good run. Is Dial H still around? I don't think I've seen it on racks recently but I could've just missed it. Also, thanks for the Constantine reminder. You're definitely spot on about the New 52. I'm sure DC will try to find some way to "fix" things again, but I do wish they'd go ahead and do the whole thing with Pandora and get it over with already. Flashpoint was a decent/okay series. It was much better than Fear Itself. That note from Bruce's dad at the end of Flashpoint is now a link to a more recent sorrowful moment.

Phew! It seems everyone's cool with having another thread for other publishers and I agree that it'll probably be easier to keep going if they're all in one spot. That's great! Now is an awesome time to be into comics and you can find a good story in unlikely/unheard of places. Also, I wrote this at 0300 my time so this may be edited at a later date for clarity, grammar, etc.

  • @Queso & Chaos: the new ST team is Charles Soule (W) and Andy Brase

@Chaos: Yeah, but Batman has been operating for least 5 1/2 years, but that doesn't really make a difference, does it? Also, Red was never Robin, but he was still Bat's sidekick (as far as I know).

@Queso: *Spoilers for JL #17* ya' know how in JL #17 on the last page, you seen the guy with the cane talking about building the Seceret Society? Well in JLA #2 you see some of that, so yeah, the books are meant to intertwine, and you probably have to read both of them to get the full expierience but I think someone who hasn't read JL could still enjoy JLA a lot, so ANYONE WHO HASN'T READ JLA, READ IT.

  • Watch them end The New 52 with Trinity War.

  • @Cameron: I do wish they'd get on with fixing realities.

  • If they do, I know a lot of people will be mad, if not for actually liking the New 52, then just because DC would just screw us over big-time because it never even mattered at all.

  • nah, everyone would be happy if they do it right, they won't and it'll be as big a disaster (on an editorial level) as the new 52 has been

  • @Cameron @Chaos: I do think that if they did it well it would be well-received. They need to get a great creative team with a consistent vision that can be continue to be carried out even if said initial team changes. I also agree that they need to lighten up/improve their editorial input/control.

  • On the editorial note, did anyone hear about both Diggle and Fialkov leaving DC? Neither of their books (Diggle-Action Comics, Fialkov-GL Corps and Red Lantern Corps) have even hit the shelves yet, but they both look like they are drastically better than what the titles were before.

  • @Cameron: Yes, actually, but only because of comicvine's weekly news segment. I was really digging the premise for Red Lanterns but around the time that Rankorr (insert serious eye rolling here) was introduced it degenerated into utter crap. I actually dropped the series, something I don't do nearly often enough. I'm not gonna hold my breath for the new creative direction but will rely on what you guys think about it. :-) Yeah, it's lazy. Don't even read GLC anymore.

  • Well GLC is actually quite better compared to RL based on what I've heard and read. (spoilers?) Fialkov turned Guy Gardner into the main character and leader of RL and I think he then focused on John Stewart in GLC. I hope even with the new writer, they keep those changes because they seem interesting.

  • rumor has it they both left because of editorial control over the stories they wanted to tell, apparently DC wanted Fialkov to kill off John Stewart

  • @Cameron: Ah, Guy Gardner, a favorite lantern of mine (*rolls eyes*). I seem to remember him being important in the New 52's JLI book for some reason.

@Chaos: I can't believe they wanted Fialkov to kill off John Stewart. I knew he killed Mogo but Come on! :-)

  • Why is everyone always hating on the bowl cut and green vest. That is a dope look. I need to look up the trinity war, i have been slacking on my comic news.

Personally as someone who wasn't reading DC before the reboot, I love everything about it. On the subject of people leaving DC, Action Comics was really really bad, they needed a new creative team anyway.

  • Andy diggles run hasn't been released yet... so yeah, Morrison's run was pretty bad

  • @FAMESREVENGE: Haha! I'm always slacking on comic news. I'm glad you're enjoying the reboot. I heard that AC was a hugely mixed bag that went up and down quite a bit.
