The lights are on
Maybe you can't read Japanese, but you don't have to in order to appreciate anime or to hang out here. Talk with others about your favorite manga, movies, and artists.
cause AS....i mean Toonami didnt show it :D
I'm a Legendary GI member.
I can see why
That opening is awesome! See this is one reason Toonami is tough to keep going. If they want the more violent anime they have to cut so many things (like the opening?) Televised anime will always be dubbed. Which to me is a bit of a loss because subs are more true to the Japanese intent of the dialogue, which is a much richer more symbolic language than english is. Comedies would be great... but there are so few truly truly good anime comedies. I think comedies are probably the hardest to write. Openings and Closings should NEVER be cut. So much effort is put into the art, music, type and flow that sometimes the opening or closing is the best part of the anime. Cutting those is a crime! When I finally got to see a full opening of InuYasha I was so mad they always cut it!
I will definitely miss Durarara!! and Kekkaishi too. They both only aired once on [as]. Kekkaishi was JUST hitting the climax finale and DRRR!! was about halfway through a second airing before this new schedule. I am happy they kept SAC and Cowboy Beebop. I've seen both like a million times, but it's comforting to still have them in the lineup as they are both great. My only Toonami request would be, Yaoi AND LOTS OF IT! And some kind of anime with monsters or another urban anime like DRRR!!. Giant robots, sci-fi and action/blood are great and all... but how about a nice, romantic, hot, yet bitter-sweet male-male yaoi love story??? America's traditional, conservative anime fans will have to be put to bed by 1:30...... lol
Why do they have to cut the opening?
@Nekurulez, Come on, There wasn't even any violence in that op! AS does not do violence cuts. And if they were gonna cut for violence, I think the classroom scene would have been much shorter right?
Seems like it was cut for time constraints to me, and you know what, better some opener than actual scenes imo.
I've been watching [AS] for years, and I never really thought that they gut the violnce that much. And I don't get why gutting an opening would change the violent factor any, I'm with @Romars that seems like a time thing to me.
yep hopefully they show it in the future. I also hope rating are good so they get more money for new things.
if you want them to get more money then watch Toonami cause that's the only way we can can help them.
@Meta... hold up, did you consider they may have only not shown it because it's the first episode? As in, it wasn't even part of the ep to begin with?
I didn't even think of time constraints. You're right, that probably is why we missed the opening. I don't there was no opening for ep.1. I don't remember seeing any opening credits as the show started. It probably was time constraints. Was the classroom scene not cut at all? I honestly don't know, this is the first time I'm seeing it.
i didn't see it but if it was edited the whole classroom scene would be darkened except for the center so you couldn't really see the girls head laying on the ground.
You could see the head pretty clearly I thought.
then it might not have been edited, ill use my anime source compare to the aired if its on VOD and the original.
never mind its not on VOD yet but in the edited version on hulu you can see the head but as the scene pans out it is darkened so you cant tell the man in red through the girls head at ganta and no the first episode doesn't have the intro.
yea i can blar it in the future. but yea i mean still you know she lost her head you just didnt see the blood
