The lights are on
Maybe you can't read Japanese, but you don't have to in order to appreciate anime or to hang out here. Talk with others about your favorite manga, movies, and artists.
Well said Fox, so true. Art is everything to me too, if I don't like the style of it there is just no point.
Danke
one manga will rule over any anime but its randomness will melt your brain put it back in your head and then evaporate whatever was left. Bo bobo bo bobobo
Everybody dance now
But see, that is what I love about Japanese art style. Total randomness is the key to a good time. It really makes no difference. It all depends on the persons view of the art and what they would like to enjoy as entertainment.
Randomness in manga can come at a price sometimes lol
The best way to sum this up is, WoW!!!
Ah.... Bobo... that Shonen Jump manga is randomly hilarious. I can't say much about the english dubbed anime though.
The iDOLM@STER : A game for real men.
The english dub was alright but my goodness the shere amount of randomness in it blows my mind.
I sort of treat this how i do with the movie version vs book version debate. If its more story oriented..more than likely the book is better, but if its something action packed..id rather watch and hear it. Sorta similar with manga vs anime. If it has good story and would be something visually impressive..chances are ill read the manga and watch the anime.
Luckily for the Anime I watch sticks close to the story so I can enjoy both equal but if I watched one that didn't stick the orginal plot, I'd probably say the Manga.
just like fullmetal alchemist *at first at least
Both are awesome in their own respects, but I have NEVER seen an anime be totally faithful to a manga series (although Hellsing Ultimate is well on its way), so I would have to say, or at least for manga to anime adaptions, I prefer the manga. For shows like Evangelion (which is my favorite anime of all time) that were anime first, then manga, the anime is usually better. I guess it just depends on which is produced first.
If you bred HK-47, Shale, Chai Ka and Wrex, the gaming world would explode from sheer badassery.
I'm split on this. Manga you can sometimes find more adult humor and situations that might not have been good for the anime. Although sometimes in action scenes in mangas some panels just confuse me. I will find my self looking at somebody running then the platform is destroyed, and I just end up asking myself "Huh!? What did i miss". So if I like the series enough I'll usually watch both and compare them.
well thats japan for you plus most translators and the jokes themselves cannot be expressed correctly when brought over to the U.S
I feel like that manga is better because I'm a story type of person.Like a lot of people have already said most times the anime doesn't stay completely true to the source material. Most of the time that means a lack in character development. On the other side of things i feel like in manga some times you can't grasp the depth of the action/fight scenes. So it does sometimes depend on what I'm reading/watching but most of the time I'd prefer manga.
