The lights are on
Maybe you can't read Japanese, but you don't have to in order to appreciate anime or to hang out here. Talk with others about your favorite manga, movies, and artists.
I'm really into Soul Eater right now. FMA: Brotherhood. Eureka 7. Cowboy Bebop.
Besides the obvious great ones (Death Note, Cowboy Beebop, Attack on Titan, Full Metal Alchemist, Fooly Cooly), I want to throw Baccano in the mix. There is no denying that quality.
I wouldn't put this one as "combat wise", but Shiki was a very emotional anime. Check it out when you can.
Death note hands down right now.
In MY OPINION I say Rurouni Kenshin, FMA Brotherhood, or Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn!
I like breath and exist and stuff
Death Note has one of the best stories I have ever seen and I really cared about the characters. God I love that anime haha
Anime has always been a favorite of mine for the various elements it brings to the table. When it comes to the genres, it's hard to label a best of but these are more personal favorites.....
Best combat-Dragon Ball Z. While I can't stand the show, regardless of personal thoughts I always admired how they could take a show on combat and fit an entire season around one fight. A single fight. For one fight. No matter how many times I say it, my mind still can't wrap itself around such a concept. Lot's of Shonen try but this series still sets the bar. Just not one I personally enjoy.
Best Story-That's extremely hard for me to say. Some shows have a great story which is ruined by being drug out over too many episodes, others feel like they could have used another 12 to flesh out the charters. Then some just fizzle out towards the end leaving you wondering if they forgot where they were going or if they ever planned going anywhere to begin with. I'd say Cowboy Bebop was one I thought was great. The characters while seemingly unrelated at first came to form a bond, almost like that of a family, and at the end, parted ways just as quickly as it was formed. I'd like to say it left me wanting more, but the truth is, it didn't. I realized the simple truth that anything else would be me just wanting the further adventures of --------.
Best drama-Maison Ikkoku. This show was always a personal favorite of mine. Rumiko Takahashi did a great job imo on it. Watching Godai grow from being a HS grad trying to get into college, to where he was in the end struck a chord in me. The music wasn't bad either.
Best music-This isn't a fair question and I'm glad only I think of this stupid s$it as I'm sure I've lost any other reader at this point. I'd say cowboy bebop, .hack/, or kokoro library. All 3 had great soundtracks, some larger then others but in the end, I can't pick one.
Best emotional-Saikano. Or my girlfriend the ultimate weapon. When I first watched this show, I'd never seen anything that left me feeling miserable after finishing it. Sense then, only watching grave of the fireflies has come close to being on par.
If anyone read all this, thanks. Sorry for such a long write up. Seriously, thanks for reading.
