The lights are on
In the latest trailer for the upcoming X Rebirth, developer Egosoft shows off how the more relaxing side of space flight. Sure, there are times when you’ll want to get into dogfights and take down ships much larger than your own, but today is all about finding cool stuff floating in space.
The video shows off the long-range scanner, which is handled with a quick minigame. The more precisely you time your scanner pulse, the more you’ll see.
As the game progresses, the scanner can be upgraded to reveal more information. For more on X Rebirth, check out a preview from Gamescom 2013 and a previously released trailer. X Rebirth will be released on November 15, 2013.

I have never played the X games, but this looks awesome. Though, I'm hesitant to get it because I want to see how Kinetic Void turns out, as they seem to be really similar.
I watched the gameplay trailer & i must say that i'm not impressed at all. Hopefully there is a market for this.Very bland & repetitive.
This will be a sweet game until Star Citizen releases.
I don't play flight games at all but this trailer was awesome and I love anything in space.
Can't wait for this. Egosoft is a great developer with a long heritage now. Saddens me a bit that it's getting unfavourably compared to Star Citizen
I just want a Wing Commander reboot.
This doesn't look much about space, I have higher hopes for Elite: Dangerous
So hyped for this game, I've put countless hours into Terran Conflict and this will be no different.
I only discovered this series a year ago, before that I was still playing Frontier Elite on my PSP, needless to say, these guys need better advertising.
It's sad that this game is less then a week from release and there is almost no publicity or hype. Anyone who loves sandbox games and is interested in science fiction or space would do them selves a disservice in not checking this game out.
Looking good! I will probably play it as long as I don't get side tracked by another space game.
Game Informer, you guys should Test Chamber more PC games.
X3 sits beside the Elder Scrolls series as one of the biggest time sucks for me. Once you get over the fairly steep learning curve, it's hard to put down.
