X-Men Destiny

Another Hero Revealed For X-Men Destiny

A new hero has been announced for Silicon Knights' upcoming action/RPG.

X-Men Destiny posits an alternate reality of the X-Men mythology in which Professor Xavier is dead and the dream for human/mutant harmony is rapidly falling apart. Players adopt the role of a newly discovered mutant, and develop their mutant powers as they like.

Silicon Knights has revealed another of the hero characters you'll get to choose from. His name? Grant Alexander. The recent press release had this bio info to share about the aspiring footbal superstar. "Grant is in San Francisco hoping to land a starting spot for the University of California, Berkeley, Varsity Squad. Oblivious to the world tensions, Grant doesn’t see that the peace rally and threatening protesters around him have any connection to his life. When he discovers his own mutant powers, Grant is faced with the realization that mutant/human relations are absolutely his problem."

Previously, Silicon Knights revealed Aimi Yoshida as another hero in the story.

Are you excited about a new X-Man game on the way? Which of the revealed characters do you like the best?

  • So far so good.  I wonder what will follow up this reveal.

  • I am iffy on this new X-Men title. Is it going to be like the X-Men legends games? Is it a hack'n slash? Is it going to be like a movie title with its combat? I really don't have any info on this title so I am at a loss.

I know you can customize your powers, but how does that work?
  • i like the Grant guy, but what's his power?
  • Well, I can say the screenshots look good. I really liked X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I hope its at least a little like that. A game like that with more RPG elements sounds good to me.
  • So you play as new mutants that are already created for you? Lame. That guy looks like Cole McGrath's douchey brother.
  • very interesting *strokes beard*

  • Not interested until I see some gameplay. Those Gambit pics that were leaked were HORRIBLE.
  • I'm interested in this for it being an X-Men game, but I really need some kind of indication of the gameplay. I'm also a bit scared for how it'll turn out, seeing as it's made by Silicon Knights.

EDIT: Nevermind, guess I read through the article too quick that first time lol.
  • I'd rather make my own character than choose one. =/
  • Hopefully this is good. Otherwise Silicon Knights should be banned from making promising games.

  • I don't understand the point of having premade characters. I mean, you play a generic, newly-discovered mutant. AND it's an RPG. Why not just make up a mutant? If Hero/Awakened ever gets made (*crossing fingers for ya, Phosphorus Games), THEY have the right idea about this sort of thing. X-Men Destiny still intrigues me though. It's nice to know that Silicon Knights can make a game without taking at least 5 years to release it...hopefully. I also really hope that this game doesn't have sh** combat, like Too Human.
  • I'm not sold on the character creation concept yet, but more X-Men is rarely a bad thing.

  • boooooo

    really a football superstar?

  • But i dont want to be a jock mutant!!!!!
  • I just wonder what the combat system and the health system is going to be like

  • Am I excited for a new X-Men game? No, but I am excited for a new action/rpg with choices and consequence coming from the team behind The Legacy of Kain, and Eternal Darkness. (let's just forget Too Human ever happened)

  • This sounds like a promising game i hope it is good.

  • His name is Grant Alexander and MY first and middle name is Grant Alexander, HURRAYYYYYY

  • I thought All mutants start getting their powers at the age of 13 this guy looks like an adult what gives.
  • i am excited. thanks for asking.
