Giant Sparrow has been doling out little seeds of info regarding its upcoming game What Remains of Edith Finch for more than two years now. The studio, which also developed The Unfinished Swan, released a trailer for the new project at last year's PlayStation Experience, which only helped to add to the sense of mystery. Now, they've unveiled a new look at the game and some additional details on what players can expect from the PlayStation 4 exclusive.

As Giant Sparrow explains on a post on the PlayStation Blog, What Remains of Edith Finch tells the story – or stories – of the Finch family. Players will explore the family home, including bedrooms that contain scraps of information about its previous occupants. The game is divided into stories based on family members, with a focus on their deaths.

As you probably gleaned from the trailer, the home itself is a focus of the overall narrative, too, The studio says the Finches have lived there for about 100 years, and that it's a "crazy" place. It's meant to have a lived-in look that reflects the idiosyncrasies of the individuals who lived there. As family members lived and died there, they left their own marks on the home.

Giant Sparrow says they'll be showing more of the game at E3, including the game's beginning and its first story, so be sure to check back with us next month for our impressions.
