The lights are on
John Shirley has penned several books expanding the universes of video games, including BioShock and Borderlands. Now he is writing an eBook to release alongside Watch Dogs.
Watch Dogs //n/Dark Clouds is picking up where the Watch Dog video game leaves off, but it is a standalone story, so it is not necessary to play the game to read it. The eBook is available in two formats: a standard one, and an interactive format with videos and pictures. The video description for Dark Clouds’ announcement trailer states that the book will be available both as an eBook and as an app on mobile devices.
Watch Dogs //n/Dark Clouds is releasing on May 27, along with the game, and will be available in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish. For more on Watch Dogs, check out a recent hands-on preview.
Watch Dogs is coming to PlayStation 4, PS3, Xbox One, 360, PC, and Wii U, though the Wii U version is launching at a later time.

I may have to check this out depending on what I think of Watch Dog's story.
Why not make it into a playable DLC eh???
If the Watch Dog's story is any good, I will check this out. I like things like things like this.
I don't really like this. I prefer for games to have a complete story in the product. Fleshing out the universe and fiction with more books can be really cool, but directly continuing the story of the game? I'd rather just wait for another game...
I enjoyed Bioshock. I have his hopes for this one.
An interesting idea.
Sure, why not? I might check it out as soon as I'm done reading Icarus Effect.
I actually just bought the Rapture book he wrote, looking forward to reading it.
Apparently it also canon with the games.
I'd like to read this.
