Open World Developer Walkthrough Shows The Gamescom Experience

At Gamescom 2013, we had the chance to finally go hands-on with Ubisoft's Watch Dogs. In the preview that followed, we discussed the open world and how multiplayer will work. Now, you get to see what we played.

In the video below, you'll see Aiden Pearce hack a ctOS substation, chase down a criminal, and hack (and counter-hack) another player. You'll be able to do all of that yourself when the game launches on November 15 for PlayStation 4, November 19 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC, and November 22 for Xbox One.

  • Ill be posting videos direct from PS4 long before the Xbone even ships :P
  • Didn't Ubisoft make a statement a while back that Watch Dogs was launching on PC first, or am I wrong?

  • I don't think I will be impressed by this game until I play it myself. The videos and concepts just don't seem intriguing enough for me for some reason.

  • Looking great so far! But I'd have to say tha the player hacking looks fairly difficult for either player. Perhaps they just intend for it to be an option, but not a viable one.

  • Batman should have technology like this in the next Arkham game.
  • Mod
I hope they have a clothing store on this game, I'm getting sick of looking at that trench-coat already!
Anyway, this game is looking great. A true contender with GTA V, it looks like. When I get it, the whole world shall be hacked! Even the babies will be hacked. Trees will get hacked. I will get hacked. My hack will get hacked! Muahahaha!

Bonus Points: How many times has the word "hack" been said in this video?
    Hint: I have no clue.
  • I hope hacking doesnt get annoying, i can see myself doing regular stuff and then get hack and have to stop what i was doing, just like it did on Dark Souls(sometimes). But looks fun, i wonder if that was PS4/Xbone/PC?
  • I'm getting this at launch for the PS4 and i can't wait.

  • This looks like so much fun!

  • I can't help but notice the similarities in gameplay to Splinter Cell, and that's a good thing.  I still haven't decided on a launch title, but might just pick this up.

  • Can't wait for this game!!

  • I still don't understand why we should care if another player comes in and hacks our info?
  • Its funny how there is that nice new car in the poor district.
  • I just want to say I want to play this game first...... But come on people! can no one else see how lazy ubisoft is. Assassins creed (the ten of them), far cry3 (the two of them) and now this game.... They are using copy and paste for every game they make. doesnt the CTSO thing remind you of something? Maybe the buildings you climb to get a birds eye view of the area in assassins creed to unlock more of the map. Or maybe it reminds you of the satellites you have to climb in far cry 3 to do what you ask.... the same exact thing. Im a fan of ubisoft and their work but geez. How lazy can these guys get?
  • Those weapons deals look much better than Deus Ex: HR's just saying.

  • I hope I can blow up that hideous Bean.

  • so this game is coming out first on the launch of PS4? great!

  • It's a shame that this is just another case of poorly thought out tacked on multiplayer just for the sake of ... because Ubisuck demands its existence. Whatever players get for playing grab-ass with each other isn't worth it. There's enough to do in these sorts of open world games without having to worry about being interrupted by some other player every so often who shows up to wreck your sh!t. And from the looks of their showcase the whole process seems needless, sloppy, and unfulfilling - like a chore. Fortunately they claim it can be turned off, and I'll be willing to bet most people will. Too bad the devs will end up wasting their time on a broken feature that most everyone will ignore anyway.
  • stealing cash from a single mother?

  • the multiplayer looks interesting but i dont think i like the fact that someone could just join in my singleplayer without me knowing lol. virtually stalking me and then attempting to hack me.
