The lights are on
Koei Tecmo America released all kinds of new info on Omega Force's upcoming Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate today, including the first trailer, five new playable characters, and a number of in-game screenshots.
Three of the five characters coming to Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate are original to the series. They are: Nezha, a young officer from the Mystic Realm who wields a flaming spear, Yinglong, a stern Mystic Realm officer from the distant past, and a regal-looking robed woman named Tamamo. Screens of the new characters in cutscenes and on the battlefield are available in the gallery below. Screens are from the PS3 and PS4 versions.
Along with the three original characters, crossover characters Sophitia Alexandra from the Soul Calibur series, and Sterk from the Atelier series will be joining Orochi’s roster. The characters have received updated backstories involving space-time rifts to explain their appearance in the Warriors universe.
In addition to new characters, Omega Force’s slash-‘em-up action game introduces new gameplay to the series, including aerial combo actions and the ability to change battle style on-the-fly, new storylines and scenarios, and several new stages from the Soul Calibur, Atelier, Dynasty Warriors, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Samurai Warriors series.
Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate will be released for PS4, PS3, Vita, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 on September 2. The PlayStation 3 and Vita versions will only be available digitally and will cost $49.99 and $39.99, respectively. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will also be available at retail for $59.99. For more on Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, check out our earlier preview.
