The lights are on
Tecmo Koei has announced a release date for their hack-and-slash game. New features, characters, and visuals are promised.
Taking a page out of Dynasty Warriors, Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate has you fighting hordes of foes as various legendary samurais and fighters with hack-and-slash gameplay. The battlefields allow for up to 100 enemies to be on screen at once.

The new characters included in this version bring the total number of playable characters up to 145. In addition to the famous ancient samurais, you will be able to fight as characters from Soulcalibur, Dynasty Warriors, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Dead or Alive 5, Atelior Rorona, and Samurai Warriors.
As well as crossover characters, there will be new crossover stages from Dynasty Warriors, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Atelior Rorona, and Samurai Warriors, bringing the total number of stages to 51. The PlayStation 4 version will include improved textures and better lighting as well.

Though these games are typically known for their fast-paced and intense combat, Tecmo Koei is also expanding the game's storyline, adding a new main storyline as well as additional side stories.
The game is currently available for pre-order with both Best Buy and GameStop are offering exclusive pre-order costumes. PlayStation players will also have access to cross-save functionality. (Note: GameStop is Game Informer's parent company.)
