Vessel is a brand new downloadable game headed to Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC this holiday season for $14.99. The title will make its public debut at PAX, but the folks over at publisher indiePub and developer Strange Loop Games gave us an early look at the game through this first trailer.

At first, Vessel looks like it follows a familiar formula -- 2D action puzzle solving. It's the addition of liquid dynamics that starts to make things interesting. Players take on the role of Arkwright, an inventor who has managed to come up with a remarkable creation called Fluros -- creatures made entirely of liquid. Sadly, those Fluros have gone wild, and they're screwing up machinery around the world. Arkwright heads in to set the situation aright.

Each of the liquid Fluros can melt, reform, mix with other fluid types and regrow lost limbs. Each different creature will also have unique behaviors that you'll need to evaluate and manipulate to solve puzzles.

Vessel has an intriguing visual style, and the idea of mixing liquid physics with more traditional platforming and puzzle solving sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Check out the first trailer for the game below, and let us know what you think in the comments below.
