Capcom Announces Ultra Street Fighter IV, Will Include New Characters And Stages

During EVO 2013, Capcom announced that Street Fighter IV will be receiving five new characters, new stages, and new balancing in the form of DLC. That DLC will turn the game into Ultra Street Fighter IV, or you can buy the Ultra version of the game at retail.

Ultra Street Fighter IV will be releasing early next year for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. You can buy the DLC for $14.99 to upgrade your copy of Street Fighter IV to the Ultra version of the game, or you can buy a new retail version of the game for $39.99, and it will include all of the DLC.

The announcement trailer for the sort of new game showcases four of the five new characters. You can check it out below.

  • To all that think this is a joke. First off this pack includes all dlc from the start including costumes and characters so this is a complete pack. Shooters do this kind of thing all the time with map packs but its yearly where this has been over 5 years. Fighters typically have large time investments and learning curves unlike shooters so many fighting gamers would rather update over several years rather than new enrty every year or two.

  • Coming 2015: Ultimate Super Street Fighter IV Unlimited HD Remix Tournament Capcom beats money once again out of one of its most popular franchises at a price that should be $30 at the most Edition 2.0 Complete Edition Ultra :)

  • But in all seriousness this will probably be worth purchasing. Especially for those who've never played SFIV.

  • Why not just make Street Fighter V instead of dragging out Street Fighter IV for four years? (That was a lot of four's.)
  • And suddenly, I remember a certain episode of Gravity Falls... "Super, power, ninja, turbo, neo, ultra, hyper, mega, multi, alpha, meta, extra, uber, prefix" Street Fighter 4!

  • ROFL Of course...

  • Not surprised, Capcom released like 50 versions of Street Fighter 2. What I am surprised by is how long they waited for this update.

  • Good grief.  I really don't want to buy this game AGAIN.

On a related note, I wish they'd add the current DLC to Super Street Fighter IV 3D.  I play the game on my 3DS more than I did the 360 version, and I would totally pay for the extra characters.

  • So you can get Street Fighter 4 for $5-10, then get the Ultimate DLC for $15, totaling $20-25, or you can pay $40 to get the exact same Ultimate SF4 retail edition. Man, what a hard decision.
  • This takes milking a game to a whole new level.

  • Didn't I say this was going to happen?!  Why not call it all the street fighter names???? Super Ultra Street Fighter IV 4th Strike 3D Universal Deluxe Limited Edition!!!! 80 new costumes and 2 new stages! Capcom seriously has to stop this all.

  • I bought Street Fighter IV back in 2009 from a friend and I never played any of the new advanced ones. I might pay $15 to play as new characters and stages instead of buying SSIV or the retail version of the game.
  • ultra! well, might pick this up!

  • Cant wait for Super mega Ultra street fight IV Ultimate Arcade Collectors edition
  • how many editions have they done for this game

  • I'm tired of games coming out a year later with it being renamed to a d**n "special" or "ultra" edition.

  • Wow! I can't wait for Ultimate Super Ultra Street Fighter IV Colossal Arcade Collectors Limited GOTY Special Editon

  • Will this include all of the extra costumes? Cuz if so I'm in.
  • So much milking!

  • I'm not one to condone milking, but that is one sick piece of box art.
