The lights are on
Trion Worlds is best known for its MMOs Defiance and Rift, but the studio has just announced a new project that may appeal to fans of the visual style seen in Minecraft. Trove is described as a “free-to-play online adventure RPG,” and presents a dynamically generated game world mixed with handcrafted environments and levels.
Players are meant to play a game in a given generated world for a time, and then move on and play in a new version of the world that might be very different. Trove encourages construction, exploration, and destructible environments.
The developers of Trove hope to distinguish their new project from Minecraft both because it is free-to-play, but also because they want to have a deeper involvement from their community in the development of the game and its structure. Alpha sign-ups are available now at the game's official site.
Take a look at the new trailer, and share your thoughts in the comments. What do you think of Trove? Any interest in participating in the alpha?

If this anymore like Cube World.... wait it is exactly like Cube World except you can build stuff. Even the enemies are the same. Shame on Trion Worlds.
Looks like a more polished version of Cube World to me,who knows, maybe it will have a better combat system.
It looks like HD Minecraft. That is the first thing that popped into my head.
Yay its almost like Minecraft!!!
at least its free though
" Ideas can come from anywhere"
So you copied Minecraft….
Looks like My Hero from the Master System days. Maybe a little Two Crude Dudes thrown in for good measure.
HD minecraft anyone?
