Ubisoft and RedLynx have announced that the first mobile installment in the bone-breaking Trials series will be coming in just a few short weeks. Trials Frontier arrives on April 10 on iOS devices.

The story behind Trials Frontier (yes, there is a story) tells of a civilization in decay. Humanity now lives in isolated villages, across which you will ride and perform stunts while trying not to break all your sensitive bits.

The free-to-play title will also connect with the upcoming Trials Fusion (PC, console), which comes out on April 16, for unlockable bonus gear. Players will be able to purchase gems with real money, which can be used to refuel their tank or purchase upgrades, including larger fuel capacity.

Each new course costs one unit of fuel to begin, with no penalties for restarting. Each time you level up, your tank is refilled, or you can simply wait for a short amount of time while it automatically tops off. Gems are also earned through playing, so it is possible to progress without spending money.

An Android version of Trials Frontier is coming later. No specific release window has been announced. For more on the Trials series, check out our review of the most recently released game in the franchise, Trials Evolution.
