Transformers: War For Cybertron Art Gallery

That beautiful image you see above is the Autobot city of Iacon falling apart in the midst of a devastating Decepticon attack. One of High Moon Studios core goals with Transformers: War For Cybertron is to turn the Transformers home planet of Cybertron into a compelling setting that gamers care about. With that in mind, they've shared a whole bunch of concept art (as well as some character art of the titular robots in disguise). Check it out below and let us know what you think!

If you dig the look in these images, be sure to check out our video interview with the War For Cybertron art team for more info on the inspiration for their designs. For continuing Transformers coverage, be sure to keep your eyes peeled to Game Informer's War For Cybertron hub. We've already posted several character profiles, a Transformers history, and a look at High Moon Studios, and we've got more coming for the rest of the month.

  • Looks good.

  • cool

  • These conceptual art pieces are beautiful!

As the game moves forward from concept to the actual form, details change (or are lost all together), but I hope that is not the case with War for Cybertron.  These are all outstanding!

I do have a few nitpicks with the conceptual/completed art, however.  Why does Prime have the Autobot symbol on the bottom of his vehicle mode, what purpose does it serve--I hate things that don't fit/serve a purpose; it looks as though it was put there just for the sake of putting it there.  It looks silly.

Why does Optimus have wheels?  I know this isn't based on the original G1 show, but it is clearly influenced by it.  All Transfans know the Autobots hovered--no wheels.

Megatron's conceptual picture looks great, classic colors and all!  The other pictures of him, however, have a bit too much purple.  The glowing purple parts look too bright, overshadowing his more prominent (original) colors.  Had RED been used over purple, I would nitpick as much.  I just think RED and BLACK help bring out his dark persona.  Purple, though regal in its form, doesn’t work well for Megatron, IMHO.  Less purple.  More RED, please.

When can we expect to see other Transformers?  How about the game in motion (not cut-scenes), and other popular/new characters?
