Tiger Is Swinging Easy With Kinect

Even though the Tiger franchise won't be appearing on the Wii this year, fans of motion-based golf can easily find solace in playing the game with Xbox 360's Kinect.

In the video below, you can check out lead designer Mike DeVault as he walks through just a few of the things you can do with Kinect in the game. Pretty much everything – whether that's an in-game action or a menu command – can be done using the peripheral. As you can see, you can change your club, stance, shot placement, and more using Kinect. Of course, these peripheral-based actions (using both motion and voice commands) work in tandem with the game's new swing mechanics.

With so many of Tiger 13's actions controllable via Kinect, let's hope the experience is nice and smooth. The last thing we need is more slice on our drives!

  • A lion wouldn't give in to its libido, but a Tiger would.

    (sorry)

  • This series was once so great, but like most EA products, it eventually descended into mediocrity through its various "streamlining" features. The Kinect really won't bring me back into it either.
  • in the video still his arms are half way down but Tigers are all the way up.  Looks like lag to me.

  • "so here we are, we're loaded into the hole." - as if this guy didn't give me the creeps already...

  • I don't see how anyone can not like this. If it works well, why would you want to play with a controller? It's games like these that prove why motion controls are a great investment and why it should be a continuous feature to do things that a traditional controller can't. Providing new experiences.

Why would you even touch a controller for this game other than to do minor corrections? This should be only way to play this game. (unless your disabled or lazy.)

The Lag won't be an issue for this game seeing how there isn't anything to do afterwards.

  • Also keep in mind that by the time this comes out, the Kinect's software will be even more improved, thus more responsive.
  • Its really stupid how you are not facing your swing towards the screen. So while im watching the screen im swinging sideways. Oh well. Tiger games kinda suck more and more the last few years they come out, but I used to have great times playing this game in the past and I will still give it a shot. Also gives a reason to blow the dust off this kinect.

  • Looks a bit laggy to me.  Kinect Sports looks smoother than that.
