The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt hits store shelves and digital services on February 24, 2015. On the next day, players will receive two free DLC packs for the Temerian Armor set for Geralt and his horse, and a cosmetic set of beard and hairstyles for Geralt.

Moving forward, developer CD Projekt Red plans to release two new free pieces of DLC each week, eventually reaching 16 DLC items in total. The second week of DLC consists of a new quest, and an alternative look for Yennefer of Vengerberg. The DLC works for all versions of the game.

In a blog entry on The Witcher 3's official site, Marcin Iwiński, co-founder and joint CEO of CD Projekt Red, speaks of being a gamer today. "Every time we reach out for a new release, we expect to be taken care of. We expect support if we encounter any problems, we love updates constantly improving the experience, and we feel really special when we receive free content that gives us more than we initially paid for. It doesn’t have to be huge, it can be an awesome skin for a character, or an extra sword, or armor. Unfortunately this treatment is quite rare these days."
