What's Happening

GameInformer, I would really love an explanation for your incompetence. Seeing how on metacritic you are the only one who gave it below a 70. Right now the Metacritic score for the critics is only 70. Do you know whos fault that is? You my friend. I used to trust you and laugh at games  with bad reviews... but this?? This is Bullshiz. For god sakes even 1up gave it a way higher score. Also on metacritic the user score is 82... that is really sayin something 10 positive 1 negative... negative was an aszhole who doesn't know good hack and slash games lulz... well my rant is just about up but im just going to give this a 10 as to hopefully not stear away innocent LOTR lovers hoping for a great game.

  • Although, i agree the score was too low, it doesnt matter. They can use their own opinion and judgement, who cares what others say. Negative reinforcement is good too. Some of those websites have rated other games high which have been complete crap. Though GI gave Batman a 10 out of 10 and that is just absurd as well.
  • Ok so Game Informer disagrees, if they decided that they were going to notch the score up because other people liked it more then them, they wouldn't be journalists, they would be essentially another meta score site. Also this isn't a place to post stupid rants, its for providing a review and showing how you think the game succeeds and fails. But you needed attention, so you gave it a ten, which boosts up this sites average reader rating artificially, like you were just complaining about. Good job.
  • Oh. My. GAWD. someone has a differing opinion of what makes a good game

  • well i played the first 30 min on onlive and loved it whats the problem GI?
  • U mad bro?
  • The main problem with the Game Informer review is JOE JUBA. He habitually reviews games with a slant towards his very subjective personal biases. Rather than remaining objective and discussing the merits and faults of the game and whether it successfully accomplishes what it sets out to do, Joe reviews it based on how much he personally liked it. For example this is a Lord of the Rings game. Nowhere in the review does Joe discuss how well the game fits in the Canon of the source material. This is a game designed and crafted for LOTR fans. It seems obvious that any review of the game should discuss the game from this perspective. All I can say in summary is. This is just another FAIL on the part of the reviewer. I am less INFORMED about the true nature of the game for having read this review.

The game is a lot of fun. It does become repetitive towards the end, but the satisfying combat system more than makes up for that. The thing I like the most is that Snowblind leaves a lot to the imagination. Rather than just telling the story detail by detail, cut scene to cut scene, they allow the player the freedom to fill in the spaces. Much like a well written novel the framework is provided. It is up to the player in this case to take what is hinted at and flesh it out. I like this approach to adding to the LOTR material. I believe that this encourages immersion.

The game is not perfect, it has its flaws. Overall in my opinion a true Lord of the Rings fan will find a lot to love.
  • The game is terrible. Rating it a 0.25
  • Soooo....you think this game is as good GoW 3, UC2, MGS4, and Batman AC? Or maybe you're just trolling.

  • Mod
Thanks for wasting yet another chance to actually review a game you've played.

    Mods, please delete this rant.
  • God forbid someone on GI to give his opinion on a game!!!

  • to be perfectly honest, i dont think this guy has ever touched any other games by his spelling and ill admit, i sometimes play them too.

Battlefield 3 is a for sure (check profile on messages), manner of acting and constant typos (a couple is fine but good lord). sounds like a Call Of Duty guy
