The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Launch Trailer Spoils The Story

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker released 10 years ago on GameCube, but that doesn't mean there aren't some players out there who haven't already experienced the game's story.

If you have been waiting to play the HD version of the game, or maybe just weren't of age to play when the original released, I wouldn't recommend watching the launch trailer below. Some major story moments are spoiled. If you know what to expect, though, and just want an excuse to see more of Wind Waker HD's gorgeous visuals – enjoy!

For Wii U eShop digital download players, The Wind Waker HD released yesterday. Those waiting for physical copies must wait until October 4. Be sure sure to heah here to read our review of Wind Waker's HD return, and here for our Test Chamber where we spend some time with the game on video.

  • Kyle, what are you talking about?! That was totally spoiler free! 0_o

  • Not many spoilers other than Ganon is in the game, and the main story arc of the first hour or so. I believe they wanted to tease more than usually teased in order to get purchasers based on nostalgia.

  • Well, if you managed not to have it spoiled for you until now, you've accomplished a lot regardless.

  • "or maybe just weren't of age to play when the original released"

    Damn, I'm getting old!

  • I've beaten this game once or twice, and no spoilers were readily obvious. I suppose if you've played Zelda before, and hadn't played this one, you'd be curious as to whether or not Ganondorf and Zelda are present... something they don't immediately point out in the game. I think they actually hold on to the Zelda secret for quite a while... Still, without knowing the 'secret', I wouldn't really call that a spoiler.

As far as spoiler territory goes, yeah, I guess if you're 100% in the dark about this game. It's similar to saying Luke becomes a Jedi. Anyone who knows anything is going to know that, but someone who's never heard of Star Wars and is watching it for the first time, would likely consider that a spoiler.

  • I didn't really see any spoilers here.

  • The trailer didn't spoil a *** thing GI.

  • Mod
God this trailer makes me want to purchase a Wii U.
  • Well this game looks amazing and I had just finished replaying it a few months ago. If I had a Wii U I would probably give it another try.
