The Evil Within
Survival Horror fans have been waiting a long time for Shinji Mikami to create a game in the spirit of the original Resident Evil titles. We don’t know yet whether The Evil Within will scratch that itch, but its latest trailer does promise that the game will kill you (frequently).
In a new gameplay trailer, we get to see some of the perils and puzzles facing players. As you might also expect, there is more than a little blood splashed about as Sebastian tries to stay alive and solve puzzles.
Unlike his work on the Resident Evil series, Mikami has mixed in a substantial amount of psychological horror into The Evil Within. Sebastian’s sanity will be tested as he’s thrust from one reality to the next.
The Evil Within is out on October 14 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. For more, check out an interview with Mikami and coverage of The Evil Within from our October horror issue.
