Conduit Controversy

First off, there are A LOT of haters out there who have it out for The Conduit. Granted the single player was lacking at times, but it's nothing a sequel can't solve. The greatest flaw was the fact that throughout the entire game, there were only three characters...yourself being one of them. The AI system can use a tweak here and there, but if you find the game easy then odds are you simply need to increase the difficulty, a feature that's readily available in-game.

The weapon design is genius. You've got human, drudge, and trust factions, each having it's own distinct "super weapon" (the humans have rockets, drudge have the shrieker, and trust has the carbonizer), in addition to pistols, rifles, etc. Perhaps throw in a melee weapon or two in the sequel and it'll be perfect.

Maybe it's my internet connection, but online play tends to be frustrating. Amidst an often glitchy system, I've seen some of the strangest things on The Conduit's multiplayer. From people walking on ceilings to floating heads, online glitches can be tiresome. Matchmaking would benefit if it were similar to Call of Duty World at War's setup: by designating somebody as a host and making groups from there instead of fixed rooms. This would (as I imagine) decrease the disgusting wait time to join games and lead to greater player satisfaction.

I admit I may have been a bit generous with my rating, but what The Conduit leaves to be desired can be tweaked easily enough with a well-rounded sequel, one I look forward to pre-ordering.
