The lights are on
2K Games didn't have a booth at E3 2013, despite huge banners on buildings close to the Los Angeles Convention Center. It's a shame that more people didn't get a chance for hands-on time with the intriguing The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, because as you'll see, it's not your average third-person shooter.
In the newest trailer, 2K Marin is showing off how smart field commanders can work their way through encounters without firing a shot themselves. It's all made possible through the title's "Battle Focus" mechanic. This scene is one that I've played, and even after going through it myself, I'm seeing new tactical options (like using Lift on a turret to give it the benefit of elevation).
The trailer also gives one of the best looks at the smartly designed heads-up display that 2K Marin has implemented. Cooldown timers, available skills, health, and status are all easy to read in the heat of battle.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified arrives on August 20, 2013, for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
