(I anticipating him taking Jins place as a good guy cuz lets face it, Jin is officially the new Heihachi.) It was just too cheap and I was forced to stick with christie's breakdance move through most of the game instead of using my favorite character. (Marshall Law) and real skill (No I don't mean spamming the backflip move.) Speaking of cheap whats up with tekken's bosses all of the sudden? Its like trying fighting the Hulk theres no balance with tekkens bosses from the last two installments. Winning is 50% luck and 50% skill, TEKKEN needs to fix these final boss concepts there just too cheap.(Im mainly lookin at you Azazel!)

Blog Post: Tekken Review

The first 10 min of the campain already lowered the score i knew about the fighting and its awsomeness but lets face it when it came to the campain thumbs down. The fighting was great, one problem was when versing my cousin he would only bash buttons causing me to get pissed and killed lots of times. Other then that if u have a oppenet who actaully knows the buttons the fight will be kick ass. The maps were good lots of detail in what was happening in the background but not too much that you lost intrest in the fight.

Wiki: Tekken 6 Guides

Guides for Tekken 6

Blog Post: Yay Customization! Boo Story! So-and-So Scenario Campaign!

I've been a Tekken fan for only a few years, but I've grown quite acustomed to the series. With Jin Kazama being my favorite character, the story always being interesting (no matter how many pandas, robots, and wooden people there are), and the gameplay being so fun, Tekken has been a favorite for me ever since I first played 4 (yes, the first Tekken I played was 4). Then came Tekken 6, the first next-gen Tekken game. I was excited about it until I found out that Jin Kazama, the main hero of the Tekken series, suddenly and for no apparant reason turned evil. Despite that, I still wanted to play it, since the gameplay still looked good and the customization looked even better than 5. I decided to rent it and as much as I still liked it, there are some things that I can't overlook.

Gameplay-wise, the fighting is still great and everything. The addition of the rage mode (or whatever they called it, I forget) allows players that are close to defeat to have a fighting chance (I know it saved me a couple of times). Of course, I've never been a fan of the 10 hit combos, but I'm sure most of you don't mind them (considering you actually know how to use them), so I won't complain about them. I haven't played the online mode, but I can bet it can be fun as long as you don't have lag and as long as you fight someone close to your level. If you're like me and don't use 10 hit combos (button-mashers included), DO NOT play this online until you learn them because experts will 10 hit combo you to death. Even the rage mode can't save you because they'll KO you before you even have the chance to strike. All and all, the gameplay is still good, just wish the 10 hit combos didn't always kill me.

Moving on to the other modes, the game has a nice variety. From the arcade mode to the team battles, there is plenty to keep you occupied.

The customization is easily one of the best parts of the game. Using all of your fight money to make your favorite characters the way you always wanted them to look is great. It is incredibly deep, allowing you to not only change character parts, but remove regular parts (Kazuya without his gloves, Raven without his shirt, you get the picture). You can do so many things, like giving Jin Kazama a black jacket and jeans, dressing Heihachi in business wear, or even turning Raven into a futuristic military soldier. Remember in 5 that if you bought a part that you didn't want that you would have to live with it forever? Not in Tekken 6. If you have parts that you just don't want, you can sell them for fight money (I love selling Jin's Emperor armor). You won't get as much fight money as you spent, but after selling a lot of stuff, your fight money goes up rather well. Some of the characters have more than two costumes (one character having four I think), though some of the costumes are either ridiculous (Jin was not meant to dress like a Japanese military dictator) or completely over the top (Lili's costume is nearly on-par with Ivy) or even mind-bobbling (Kazuya's 3rd form is a...robot cyborg???). Depite that, the customization was easily one of the best parts of the game.

I found the new characters to be very disappointing. Bob is a stereotypical fat guy that makes you wonder if Namco got the idea after playing as Rufus from Street Fighter 4. Personally, I don't think Bob fits into the Tekken series at all (I just can't picture this guy beating Jin or Kazuya). Next up is Leo, the tom boy. I don't hate her because she's a girl, but I just feel like Namco said, "Hey, since we put in a fat guy, lets put in a girl that dresses like a guy!" Zafina, the guardian of ancient tombs, actually did pretty well for an extra. Her style of fighting (and dressing) was certainly interesting and I think she was better off than Bob and Leo (hmm, Bob and Leo? I smell sitcom!). Miguel also did quite well for me. While most may accuse him of copying Eddy, I think he's quite interesting since he's a Spanish fighter (kinda like a bullfighter mixed with a dancer), so I like him. Then comes the three that really screw things up. Alisa seemed interesting, being the daughter of Dr. Bosconovitch until you found out that she was actually an android. Being stronger than a human is one thing, but flying around with jet propellers, slashing with chain saw hands, and throwing her head at an opponent, which explodes, and then growing a new head is just too overpowered for a Tekken game. Azrael, being the final boss, is supposed to be hard to fight, but he is the textbook definition of unfair advantage. Most of his attacks are unblockable, he can block out a lot of your own attacks, and can attack you in ways that you wouldn't expect from Tekken. Azrael is an evil spirit that makes Ogre look like a fair player (even if he did have two forms). Then there's Lars, whom I will talk about in the Scenario Campaign.

Here is where all the reviewers bash at Tekken, the Scenario Campaign. Before I get into the story, I'll talk gameplay first. After the first level, where you play as Lars, you have the option of choosing any of the characters to play as (I picked Jin of course). Unfortunately, you can't choose your partner, so you'll have to stick with Alisa (whom has all the abilities I mentioned, but can get beaten easily by street gangs and random summos). I'm not entirely sure, but I think if you have a second player playing with you, they can choose their character too. Anyway, the gameplay is at times fun, but at times frustrating. Throughout the first levels, the gameplay can actually be kinda fun. Busting through baddies with your combat is fun and all, but just wait until you get a gatling gun or flame thrower (those things are lethal!). You take them down (along with all the regular characters you fight), collect power-ups, and also items and huge amounts of fight money. Easily one of the best things about the Scenario Campaign is getting huge amounts of serious dough and getting all the items you can get. At times, the Scenario Campaign is very fun.

Later on, however, the gameplay gets frustrating. The waves of enemies get bigger, they have more health and attack power, they use cheap and powerful weapons like guns and fire-gloves, and then the gameplay just is unbearable. The G Corporation headquarters level is very frustrating without the giant robot thing you get to use (which you can fight in Arcade Mode) and another level which is a G Corporation training facility is the most annoying level of all if you don't watch the edges (thank god that regular Tekken matches do not have ring outs). If you're getting knocked around by enemies or even run in for a slide attack, you'll see your health bar entirely dissapear, so if you're playing this single-player, Alisa will either disappear or you will be out (either way hurts). If that wasn't enough, some of the bosses are just frustrating (spoiler alert: Alisa betrays you and you have to fight her without any help whatsoever and she uses lots of 10 hits and unblockables, and she has gunners firing at you). The character customization actually comes into play during the campaign, so your custom costumes will appear in the campaign. Depending on some of the parts, your health will increase, your normal attacks will have elemental damage and you can even increase the number of items you can collect. However, if the game doesn't like your costume, it won't give you squat...or it may even lower your health and attack power. On some levels, I remember having to equip so many parts that could increase health and power just to survive and when I used said costume, Jin looked the opposite of cool. Gameplay wise, you'll love and hate Scenario Campaign.

Now for the game's greatest flaw: the story. The Scenario Campaign stars Lars, a Tekken Force soldier with spiky hair...and amnesia. He joins up with Alisa and the two of them fight through dozens of groups to fight the Mishima Zaibatsu. Jin Kazama rules the Mishima with an iron fist, staring practically a world war, destroying cities, making people suffer, and sending dozens of his troops after you along with his elites Nina and Eddy. You team up with dozens of others (Lili for example) that just want Jin Kazama dead, showing you how much everyone feels toward him. Lars then goes after Heihachi and [SPOILER ALERT!!!] finds out that Heihachi is his father, making Lars important and powerful enough to fight Jin. Eventually, you do and then Jin reveals that his motives the whole time were to fight Azrael and kill himself. Jin defeats Azrael and though it seems that he's dead, he lives and will probably still be hated in Tekken 7 (if they even continue that is). First off, why did Namco decide to turn Jin Kazama, the hero of the series, into a villain that makes Heihachi look like a good guy? I expected the Jin in Tekken 6 to either be possessed by the Devil Gene or a complete imposter, but making him pure evil is blasphemy. For more on Jin's character deprogression, check out this blog at http://gameinformer.com/blogs/members/b/soultekken10_blog/archive/2010/04/22/jin.aspx. Secondly, why is Lars suddenly an important character? It would have been just fine if he was a Tekken Force commander after Jin, but the fact that they made him Heihachi's illegitimate son (and Kazuya's bro) is just stupid. Even worse, its almost like Namco made Lars to replace Jin like Lucasarts made Starkiller to replace Darth Vader. The Scenario Campaign wasn't too good, but the story is just pure blasphemy and a terrible part of Tekken canon that I hope Namco ret-cons.

That about sums it up. Come for the gameplay, stay for the customization, and stay the hell away from the story.

Blog Post: tekken 6

For those of you who buys the limited edition of tekken 6, you may be suprise to learn that the joystick is not the same as those joystick in the arcades. the base of the joystick is a square!..it doesn't rotate in a perfect circle, rather, it just clicks around..really hard to explain, but imma try..let's just say it's perfect for tekken, but if you plan to use it for street fighter, it doesn't feel right..as for the game itself, it's great!! graphics are improve only a little bit, not a major leap at all..controls remain the same..if you're like me, i bought tekken 6 only because i want to take my bouts online..WARNING!!! the online in this game suck!!..i mean it's freakin horrible..the lag is unbearable and unplayable..seriously!! The game balance is really good with someone to guide them on what moves track, punishes, or has bad recovery time. Story wise for Tekken 6 is fair but going through stages gets repetitive but worth getting gold to customise your favorite characters. I preferred Tekken 5: DR's random customization better over what shirts match what pants but there selection isn't bad either. Music gets a huge upgrade and as for the stages they are excellent and random I mean who doesn't like that Sheep stage. For those do care or don't care about the little problems I have with the game I'll address them here. My problem with Tekken 6 is that there is no Stage Select in Versus mode. It is a problem when comes down in a tournament having to Rematch in the same stage you lost in. Soul Caliber adopted Stage Select but not this Tekken 6 installment is beyond me. I think it plays a big role in winning a match casually or competitively. There is no Record setting in training mode this is crucial for hardcore fans of Tekken and Fighting games. Recording a characters actions is the best way to find out what move punishable, tracks, or punishes the move, Without a Record setting you need a friend to help you out with that or learn from a loss. Hopefully they will fix these problems soon other than I grade this Tekken installment a 8.25 for a horrid Scenario mode, no Stage Select in Vers mode, no Record setting in Training mode, awesome music, excellent graphics in Offline mode, and a wonderful game balance.

Blog Post: fanboysonly!

if you are a Teken Fan get Teken6!!!...if you are not ,well there are some other games out there!

Teken6 is not a bad game but maybe it wont be what you expected

and the long loadings (on ps3 even with the installation) made this game fail for what people expected

the game looks sick but it could have been better and more than that

...I'll guest we have to wait for a better Teken (namco will learn from their mistakes)

Wiki Page: Beating the Nightmare Train

Ok im going to keep this short and simple as ive seen around other forums that this level is giving some gamers trouble. Alright heres the main thing to remember you will have to fight about 32 enemies before devil jin comes out so focus on that and once you see your getting close to 30 you can start to focus on what to do to devil jin. *Have some good health, attack and defense items on you for this *level b-a will be great but c can work**also try to have a fire or shock status on you*

Ok for the first part i know you probably dont want to but you need to keep your partner alive during this for two reasons 1) enemies will usually focus on her which is good and bad but if done right you can combo them repeatly while they are locked on her *lars drop kick is good against a crowd of enemies* 2) If linked with some good items she can dish some good damage to the enemies with you.

*Note also if you see you and your partner are getting bombared by enemies use the gattling gun if you just have to use it but try to save a couple of shots for devil jin. Now once you get to devil jin hes going to come out you with some goons and he will be cheap but if done right you can kill him in under 30 secs. once he comes out he will come running for you, get by the edge of the train and if you have the gattling gun thats great as just get him beside the edge and shot him off the edge.

If you used up the gattling gun get him by the edge and then get in front of him with you facing the edge of train with him in front of you and up kick-juggle him off the edge. During this hopefully you will have your partner as the other enemies will focus on her. This method works as i now have all the trophies for this game.

Blog Post: Great Fighting, Poor Campaign

Besides the horrible campaign and uninspired locales, the fighting is superb and the immense array of fighters is impressive to. The original and beloved characters come back for another tournament while the new characters bring some great moves to the table and offer new choices. This series has always been great and it shows it here good-looking character models and great one-on-one stages. The graphics are superb, and the environments appear very vast and are extremely detailed. The moves are much more fluid then in previous Tekken titles. It also has some fresh moves to wow your friends, yet retains familiar moves so it is not hard to adjust to the new game play. The new characters are also a very good addition to the title. Most are very different in fighting technique, and are also very versatile. Combos are a little easier to execute as well. The addition of an online multiplayer is very exciting and I can't wait to dig into this title with others on the Network. Tekken does lack some in the way of environment Interaction, I would have liked to see more destruction. All in all, Tekken does not disappoint and will be a very fun addition to any fighting fans collection.

Blog Post: Welcome to the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6!

Since Tekken 3 came out, I really haven't played a Tekken. Needless to say once I picked my first copy of Tekken 6, I began to have nostalgia. I remember the good ol' days of this hard-to-put-down fighting game. And Tekken 6 does just this.

Tekken 6 is a real nice fighting game to pick up and play. The graphics are really up-to-date, the gameplay is still easy to learn and hard to master, and the new story mode adds a new layer to the Tekken series. In story mode, you play as a Tekken agent, Lars, that lost his memories after an explosion. He is then accompanied by an android girl named Alisa. The gameplay for this new-designed story mode (Scenario Campaign) is a nice and interesting touch that was brought into the Tekken universe. Instead of progressing having 1v1 fights just like in arcades, you progress by playing in a third-person beat em' up. Even though the camera needs time to get used to, it is fun to progress in a different type of fighting that Tekken is used to. Besides Scenario Campaign, there is the Offline modes, consisting of Arcade mode, Ghost mode, Team Battle, Survival, and Time Attack, just like any other fighter. Online mode needs polishing though. The net code for this game on both systems are horrendous. The online gameplay ranges from mediocre to down right laggy as a Prius in a snowstorm. You can drop combos easily because of the frame-rates and the laggy 2-3 second button input and creates problems against "spammers" and. The only thing good that came out of online is "No qutting during the fight". This deals with a lot of rage-quitters. If you have a friend that has this game, just go over your friends house to play it instead of online. Overall, Tekken is a good game to invest time into with its outstanding pick-up gameplay, intriguing story line and gorgeous graphics. And when Namco fixes its online network, it can be one of the best fighters of '09.

Blog Post: Not Bad at All

I love Tekken, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that that love will not be waning. This is definitely my favorite fighting game to have come out for the XBox 360 so far. I'm not sure what it is about this game. Maybe it's the ease with which moves can be performed. Maybe it's the massive selection of characters, and the beauty with which they have been crafted. Whatever it is, I am fairly satisfied overall.

File: Tekken 6

File: Tekken 6

File: Tekken 6

File: Tekken 6

File: Tekken 6
