We recently got some hands-on time with Platinum Games' upcoming Ninja Turtles game, Mutants in Manhattan, and you can see a huge portion of our play session right here.

Unlike our Test Chamber series of videos, where we commentate what's happening on screen, this is just straight gameplay. In the video, you see the events from the perspective of Donatello. Unlike Ninja Turtle games of the past that push you through a linear series of brawls, Mutants in Manhattan places you in a large open area and throws randomized missions at you that you complete in order to build up strength to take on a final boss. What you see in the video below, is a truncated version of that process. Usually you will complete more missions before making it to the boss, but this demo build only had us completing a few before taking on Bebop in a difficult boss fight.

Alongside getting a good look at the combat and cooperative combos, the video also showcases the Turtles' fluid mobility and the bizarre pizza-eating minigame that every turtle must complete before heading back into the battle after being knocked out.

For more on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, head here for an in-depth discussion about its MOBA-like mechanics and fluid movement. You check also out the latest issue of the magazine for a preview. The game is releasing on May 24 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The footage above was captured from the PlayStation 4 version of the game.
