We all new street fighter would be a great game but how great? Prety great. Great stages, great characters, and great graphics. But it is just not as violent as modern day fighting fan would want. overall still one of the best franchies

Blog Post: One of the best fighting games ever!!!!!*Tiny spoilers*

From 39 characters, this game is the most excellent out of any previous street fighter games up to date. But if you get the arcade edition(like i have),you will have 43 characters total!!!and they have added a couple levels to mix and match things up,and to also keep things fresh as you continue your epic battles of porportions. As you choose any character, you can unlock either color or personal actions which is a lot easier to do in this, then you could in the original street fighter 4(which in that one, must do all hard challenges in increasing difficulties). The graphics are definently rated 10. If having a old tv while playing this isn't enough?Try to at least get a small flat screen and it will blow your mind into outer space!!! In this game, there are two different ultras to pick between before you start a match with an online competitor or before you start arcade mode or even do versus mode. Seth, the final and (i think) is one of the most hardest bosses to beat on easy or higher, makes his return as the final boss in arcade mode. The online capability is great. Matchmaking is very easy to use like any other game and tournament mode and replay channels and so many more to explore throughout this wild online play. If your a beginner , at least try this game because its one of the best fighting games around. And if it so happens that your expertise is on fighting games or games in general...THIS GAME IS DEFINENTLY FOR YOU. Check it out and if you do happen to enjoy this game, have a great amount of fun with it putting hours and hours upon this wonderful, exciting street fighter installment that nobody can not forget.

Blog Post: What No Story Mode.

I love this game I picked it up when I bought my 3DS. The fighting mechinacs are great. Since I haven't played a Street Fighter game I loved the touch screen mechinacs, but I've been figuring out how to do Hadoukens and Oil Slides. This is by far the best 3DS launch game. A must have for all 3DS owners.

Blog Post: Portable SSF4? The 3D effects are stunning and is a true console port in every sense of the word. I still feel the controls are the weakest part of the package even with the lite controls. I'm afraid of getting rough with the buttons for fear of breaking them and there's probably some balance issues with the lite control scheme. Walk forward sonic boom flash kick? I wish I could connect my arcade stick to this thing but that's more a limitation of the 3DS itself than the game. I like the figures but haven't actually battled them so I don't really know how that works, and the online multiplayer is comparable to xbox live as far as lag goes(mileage may vary).

File: Dark Ryu Pics

First pictures for Dark Ryu

File: Dark Ryu Pics

First pictures for Dark Ryu

File: Dark Ryu Pics

First pictures for Dark Ryu

File: Dark Ryu Pics

First pictures for Dark Ryu

File: Dark Ryu Pics

First pictures for Dark Ryu

File: Dark Ryu Pics

First pictures for Dark Ryu

Blog Post: The Same Great Game, Only Smaller

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been nearly two decades since a Street Fighter game has appeared on a Nintendo system. More astonishingly, Capcom decided to break that dry spell by releasing Super Street Fighter IV on a portable system. The result is no simple gimmick, either.[Excerpt]

Capcom has shown a remarkable amount of restraint in using the hardware’s 3D effects. Dynamic Mode presentation adds visual depth by moving the action closer and positioning the camera behind characters’ shoulders, but the changes won’t make Blanka’s eyes pop out in disbelief. Purists can enter the options and shut off 3D entirely – a move that doubles the refresh rate from 30 to 60 blisteringly fast frames per second. I expect people to use Dynamic mode to show off the game to their friends for the first time, then to switch to the traditional side view.

Even if you haven’t kept up with Street Fighter movesets, you can do more than watch thanks to a new “lite” control option. This scheme allows players to turn the touchscreen into a series of customizable one-button triggers, letting even the greenest fighter pull off hadoukens and ultra combos with a single tap. Even if you’re not a complete novice, it’s a great way to learn how to play unfamiliar characters. If you’re concerned about people dominating online with their newfound expertise, you can filter out players using lite controls through matchmaking.

Figure Battles?

Capcom took advantage of the 3DS’ StreetPass functionality with a fun little diversion called Figure Battles. Here, players can trade in points earned through playing the game or by racking up steps on the system’s pedometer and buy Street Fighter figurines. Those figures can then be battled against other players’ collections, earning more points. Some strategy is involved in setting up rosters and tweaking three skill categories, but it’s pretty shallow. Aside from bragging rights from collecting the 500 figurines, there’s no real reason to pour too much time into the mode.

Pros might scoff at that kind of control scheme, and they can choose to stick with Pro controls. The touchscreen is still used, but it’s mapped for more mundane tasks such as three button-press combos and focus attacks. Even with the relatively limited number of buttons on the 3DS, I pulled off moves in pro mode without a hitch. The system’s circle pad is a godsend for rotation-based moves like Zangief’s spinning piledriver. The positioning of the d-pad makes it easy to swap between it and the circle pad depending on the circumstances.

A few things were lost in the transition to the portable space, most disappointingly in the game’s stages. They’re all there, but the charming background activities were scrapped entirely. The kids who used to scamper and cheer on the fighters in the underpass level are now rigid 2D facades, for instance. A few other minor graphical details are missing, too, but you have to squint to see them. Rufus’ belly might not jiggle quite as enthusiastically, but other graphical flourishes, like Hakan’s oil-soaked shimmer and the translucent sleeves in Chun Li’s alternate costume, are intact.

Unlike the iPhone version of Street Fighter IV, which was an admirable effort that ultimately felt like a proof of concept, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is a complete game. Super Street Fighter IV is one of the best fighting games around, and players owe it to themselves to give it a shot.

Blog Post: New Features Abound In Super Street Fighter IV 3D

Gamers often shrug off handheld ports of current fighters, assuming they can't pack graphical prowess or level of depth as their console brethren. Capcom doesn't share the same philosophy, and is doing everything in its power to make Super Street Fighter IV 3D a worthy contender.[Excerpt]

Although the new images in the gallery below give a basic idea of what the game looks like, seeing it in action is a different beast. You can't see the stereoscopic 3D elements in this video, but it's still worth a look.
