The lights are on
Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai has confirmed another returning character for the upcoming Wii U and 3DS series installments. Lucario was first introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl in 2007 before making the jump to the Smash arena in the Wii’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
In the past, Lucario’s abilities have increased with the amount of damage he takes. Unfortunately, this makes him weakest when he’s fresh, leading to high risk, high reward gameplay.
You can check out the new screenshots from both platforms below. Super Smash Bros. is confirmed for a 2014 release.

I figured as much. The guys at big N LOVE Luke.
Lucario's pretty badass...He was one of my preferred characters. Can't wait to play as him :D
Just a guess but now I am willing to be this mega evolution will be his new final smash.
Not bad. I'd like to see Mewtwo make a return somehow, but Lucario was a decent fighter.
Great, one of my main characters for Brawl. Got Marth and Bowser already, just need Wolf.
Meh...Never was a fan.
