Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS
Trophy collecting has been a part of the Smash Bros. experience since Super Smash Bros. Melee hit the GameCube in 2001. They're in the upcoming Wii U and 3DS versions as well, according to a new update on the official Super Smash Bros. site.
Game director Masahiro Sakurai posted the above trophy, of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time's Saria (and Navi), along with the following explanation:
Happy New Year!
Pic of the day. There will be trophies in the 3DS and Wii U games, and each version will boast different types and models. The 3DS trophies will be mainly from handhelds and the Wii U version will feature trophies from the home-console games.
So now we know that players will be snagging two flavors of trophies in the game – assist trophies, which fight alongside your character for a while, as well as these non-interactive display items. Who knows what kind of horrors people might discover through clever rotation?
